I have an 04 fx35 that im having problems with the door locks. I've read around and seen a lot of actuators problems but I can still hear it inside the door. None of the doors or trunk will lock or unlock. Any advice would be great guys thanks.

Did you check to see if the fuses are good, or the battery in the key fob? Seems weird that they would all just stop working all at once.

are you using your remote or main switch on the door? does it lock and unclock using mechanical key on the key hole o the door? does the passenger side lock switch work?

It could still be the actuators. Mine went out and I have an 04 also. I got them replaced by infiniti, not sure if it was under some sort of warranty. They could still work somewhat, but not push the locks all the way in and out, hence you still hear the noise but the do not lock/unlock.

^ Agree....

When mine went "dead", it would still try and push/pull the lock but only get halfway. You could hear them in the door panel.

I bought it used so I didn't have a remote I have checked the fuses and all are good . When using the main switch on the door I can hear it trying but they don't move at all.

Hi, your car is an 04 and you got it replaced at no charge from the dealer? Mine just started to act up. I can here it trying to lock and unlock. It's mainly the front doors but then it started not working for the back. This is has come and gone. I guess I need to check the fuse and maybe change the battery???

Guys, no use even trying to fix, just replace the actuator for the 4 doors, because they will just fail in sequence, one after the other. Soon after the first one goes out, the rest will shortly follow. I have a 2004 fx45 and been through this "must have" problem. It is like chicken pox. The OEM actuators aren't very cheep, but you could safe a lot of money replacing them yourself.

Yeah, you will hear it trying to work but it never does, not anymore, this is what it does when it fails.

Any recommendations on where to buy the actuators cheap? I usually buy from infinitipartsusa, but if anyone else has suggestions. Thanks.

When the first one went out, I bought an OEM replacement from circle-infiniti through ebay, when the rest followed, I bought them collectively from infinitipartsusa, they are about the same price range, you are looking at ~ 220$ each. This was the cheapest I found. As I stated earlier, the tangible saving will be in you replacing them yourself as it is an easy job.

A short term economic solution: you could just replace for the front doors because they are the most used, later you could buy the rest. I highly recommend not buying used ones because they might have not had the chicken pox yet :)

Well, I bought the car from Honda and a day later I realized they didn't work. Brought it into Honda and they gave me a loaner and said they would bring it to Infiniti to see what they would do as Honda didn't want to cover it. They took it to Infiniti and apparently they replaced all of them at no charge. Not sure how all of the deal went down but I got them at no charge regardless.

Ataher - Yeah, this problem comes and goes depending on the weather. It just started happening last week. Most the problems are in the front. Most days it's both driver and passenger side. One day it's one of the other. Think once it was all of the door. Using the remote I can hear the door lock beeps and it trying to unlock/lock. Geez, $220 each door for parts only. How long does it take to replace for each door for DIY?

blackfx- lucky you!

I am certain it is not weather dependent, because if you install new ones you will see that they will work like a charm in all conditions, maybe they become weather dependent on their way out, not really sure.

It would take good 45 minutes per door, maybe more if its your first time, the actuators come in two types so make sure that you find out whether you need them with or without intelligent keyless entry before you buy.

I have seen once a good DIY probably around this forum, it is easy but delegate job.
