Rear Wiper Stuck in the middle of Window

Something weird happened the other day. Father was borrowing the car and when he got back I realized that it was stuck in the middle if the window. Thought that he just shut it off at the right time so I thought nothing of it. Turns out when I went to turn it back on it only wipes half of what it should and always returns to the center. Dunno if it is a bad sensor or a setting. Need some help here guys. Did a search and couldn't really find anything. Hopefully this will be a really easy fix...:disapointed:

Did you check to see if the nut that holds the wiper onto the window is loose? The black cover at the part of the arm that attaches to the window pops off by just pulling it up from either side. Then there is a nut that keeps the arm screwed onto the grooves that move it from right to left. If you do remove the nut to check, the arm comes of by pulling it straight off. It gives a little resistance coming off (dont twist it off , you will strip grooves) just give it a good tug. I would check to make sure the nut is not loose and that he arm in sitting on the grooves correctly before you suspect anything else. Hope this helps.

I will give it a look. I don't really think it would be the problem though as it moves without hesitation back and fourth half of what it should. I looked at it while it is moving and at least to me it does not look lose. Thanks

Turns out that it was the bolt. Ended up working its way around until it just stuck in the middle of the window. Took about three minutes to fix. Thanks!

Great, glad it worked out for you. If I remember correctly in order to change the rear wiper blade you have to remove the arm in this manner also. Just a side note.
