"Dual" exhaust system (front to back) needed for a 2012 FX50s...

I want to replace the existing "single" pipe exhaust system (at the end) on my 2012 FX50s for a "dual" pipe exhaust sytem, to make it "dual" from front to back! I've looked eveywhere but all I get is an "universal kit", which I prefer not to use. If possible, I'm looking for a "custom fit" system. The actual set up on my FX50s goes dual from the front to a single pipe at the end with dual tips. I was referred to search at Invidia, however I found none listed for my specific model (2012 FX50s).

Would you think the one they have in stock right now (which I listed below) may fit my FX50s? Even though its made for an "Infiniti 2009 to 2013 FX35/37 2WD/4WD?
NOTE: I wasn't able to insert here the 4 pictures they posted detailing this product.

Product Catalog
INFINITI 09-13 FX35/37 2/4WD GEMINI ROLLED TITANIUM TIPS CAT-BACK
INFINITI 09-13 FX35/37 2WD/AWD GEMINI ROLLED TITANIUM TIPS CAT-BACK
Item No.:HS09IFXGID
MSRP: $1300.00
Piping Dia.:60mm
Tip Dia.:101mm

Should I wait a little longer for the right one to be in stock? Please advise, as I would appreciate your feedback first. In any case I may have the need to contact them for their advise as well. Thanks!!!

I agree we need a true dual not just some slap on. I also would prefer 3'' not 2.5'' or slightly smaller in some spots pipes which I've heard some people comment is too restrictive for our 50.

Doesn't Borla make an FX50 dual exhaust? Wouldn't the Invidia for the AWD FX35/7 fit as well? If it's a true dual, 2.5" should be more than enough. Dual 2.5" can flow fine for north of 600whp.

Now you got me thinking... ...a 3.0" dual front-to-back pipes would definitely be way much better than the regular 2.5" and should add some HP resulting from a drastically improve exhaust flow. Someone mentioned "Borla" but last time I checked they didn't have exactly what I'm looking for. Why can Infiniti make it simple, like BMW. My previous ride was an M3 (2010) and their exhaust configuration is exactly what I want on my FX50s, just a simple "true" dual like you mentioned. Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep looking...

Sorry, my bad. Thank you!

You can also just find a good performance shop that can fabricate the whole thing, that's what I'll be doing.

You will also want an X pipe in the system to merge the two exhausts. You don't want a completely split system all the way back as what you end up with, in effect, is closer to a 4 cylinder sound out the back than 8. The X pipe allows the two exhausts flows to merge to some extent without reducing overall flow and provides a much better sound at the tail end.

If you find a good shop they should tell you this.

Your biggest choice will be which mufflers to have installed into the system.

A custom 3" dual exhaust is an option. Most fabrication shops can do this (don't go to a regular muffler shop). You can buy mandrel bent piping in SS and have a shop piece it together. I've done this on cars in the past. The issues w/ dual 3" is going to be room. There's enough room for the pipes themselves, but it will be tight. Also, you will have an issue with getting the noise down. 3" resonators and X-pipes are bigger than 2.5" versions so you may be constrained. I customized a 2.5" Invidia for my 1st gen w/ a Magnaflow resonated X-pipe and that barely fit. Then we had to remove a heat shield in back for clearance. 3" would make the it even harder. But it would work; I think they won't ever make a production dual 3" though.

Good point, Santiagodraco, good point.

Sure I want my FX50s to sound like an 8 cylinder, definitely not like a 4. I'll see what's available here in this area for the possibility of having a "fabricated" system instead.

Again, thanks!

Yanimoe, make sure you take lots of pics and keep us posted what you end up doing! :)
