Rear Wiper Blade replacement

I replaced my rear wiper blade yesterday after about 45 minutes of cursing and scouring the net for possible solution. The arm does not stand upright. Thereby unable to release blade. Finally found info about taking elbow cover off, unscrewing 10mm nut to remove wiper arm and it came right off. Installed new blade, worked fine, but now when it's in the off position it goes below the glass. I have removed it two more times placing it where it was before and it is still going off the glass when turned off. While it's in the int position it stays on the glass.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

I am just about to do tihs as well. I was struggling with the arm for about 10 min then came here to find out what is the proper way to replace it.

I'll call infiniti to see if you're suppose to remove the arm completely.

Yeah, the dealer says to take the arm off. I removed the one nut and replace the wiper. Bolted it back on and it's perfect. Maybe you moved the starting position somehow.

It sounds like the same procedure as with the 2nd Gen FX.
Here is the procedure I posted for the newer FX. https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=13735-Replacing-Rear-Wiper-DIY

Yup, just like that for the G1 too. thanks.

I noticed there was a paint mark on the spindle thingy. I wonder if that's the starting point or a way to tell you mucked around with it and void a warranty.

I always believed that the paint mark is just the factory marking to confirm that it was tightened during assembly. I could be wrong though.

Not meaning to hi-jack the thread but I'm curious if there is any aftermarket "frameless" wiper blade out there for the 1st gen rear wipers.
