VERY faint beep when locking/unlocking

When I lock and unlock the door using the buttons on the door, I can no longer hear the electronic "beep" sound from the engine bay.

If I pop the hood open, I can very faintly still hear the sound so its working but just SUPER soft now.

Any idea whats wrong?

Maybe something is stuck in horn?

Anyone know where that horn is located?

No more warranty so not gonna go the dealer route anytime soon.

Any one know where the horn is located? Is it the same horn as the standard main horn?
 
Hey just bringing an old thread backup. This happened to me this morning. The initial beep when locking stop so I did the unlock and lock method on the remote. The beep came back but is very faint. Anyone have ideas? It worked yesterday, and we had a snow fall over last night. Could snow be stuck somewhere?

The beep speaker (warning buzzer) is a separate unit from the horn. It is located on the left side of the rad behind the grill. You can just take the molding for the air intakes off of the top of the grill and you can reach in there with your hand. I replaced mine just recently because it stopped working completely. I had replaced it on my Lancer also so I knew what to look for. They are external speakers that, with time, get corroded and just stop working.

I couldn't find the part online so I had to order it through an Infiniti dealer directly. Part cost was around 55$. After receiving the part tho I noticed it was a Nassan part which is the same one as the 2011ish 370z. Check this site, the part number is 25640-1BA0A. They are not advertised for the Fx but trust me they are the same.

Hi Jason.
i am trying to locate the buzzer on my 09. I ordered the part .

When looking in from the front, I see the horn to the left...which works. I also see something mounted sort of central to the rad behind the grill. Is that the buzzer ? It does not look the same???? I have all the cowlings and intake off.

Anyone had to locate the pesky buzzer ? Or would anyone have a diagram of the front horn area ?

Ok , I located it and changed it out. works again. It is hidden away under the main mount, to left side of the Rad, behind the grill.

sorry to bring this back to life, but i have no beeps whatsoever and i loved that acknowledgment of knowing my truck is locked with the door handle button, but i didnt think in 4 years the buzzer would let go seeing that on my 2006 it still worked to this day after 10 years....
