Hi guys.

Yesterday i bought a new battery from walmart cost $126 and installed it with the help of my friend. After installation, start the car, and engine light went on, snow hazard went on and VDC went on even though i have the button on the side to turn it off but it didn't turned off. That's actually minor. My main concern was, when i pressed the gas it can only go to 1500 RPM and the engine doesn't rev up anymore. The car runs through drive and reverse only, but when i pressed the gas, it doesn't add speed. The best part was, this morning. I started the car and after a quick start it died out. And tonight when i got home the car didn't even start anymore?...

What should i do? Is it possible that has something to do with battery installation? Does the car computer needs to resets?

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you

You must have scrammed the computer or something. I had a similar problem with mine after they installed my aftermarket remote starter. dealership time kal,,sorry bro..goodluck

So, it has nothing to do with the battery installation then?

One of my co-worker told me to buy this computer thing from walmart and plug it to my car computer and reset all the codes or something....I dont wanna make it worse and really mess up my computer, So is that advisable?

Have similar intermittent issue. Relatively new battery that just appears to go out to lunch occasionally but comes back. Ideas?

Hey Patrick, I had the same symptoms on my old car. It would work sometimes and sometimes the battery seemed dead.

Turned out to be a loose battery connector. They need to be very tight , like extremely tight or the alternator won't be able to charge it. If that isn't the problem then check the wiring to the alternator. In my case I had removed the negative wire to the battery to work on the car. After putting it back together I guess I didn't tighten it enough. It was snug, but with a bit of force I was able to rotate it off the negative terminal completely. As soon as I tightened it back up with a ratchet, the problem went away completely.
