Happy New Year. I recently got my rear brake pads replaced and rear rotors machined at Precision Z in Canoga Park, CA. I was told my front struts and insulators needed replacement and my rear shocks were leaking at 54K miles on my 2005 FX35 RWD (sport suspension). I've decided to go with the H&R setup with KYB shocks/struts. I will be using my stock 20" rims. Is there anything else I will need or should get? Bearings, strut mounts, strut boots, spacers, etc. This is for daily driving and definitely don't want unnecessary tire wear if possible. Feed back appreciated. Thanks!

No, I just got the service done on Friday. I was tired of Miller Infiniti screwing up stuff over and over so I took it to this Nissan/Infiniti Specialist by my work and they told me about the struts and shocks, so I decided I will just get new springs and lower it a bit.

i have history with Miller Infiniti of Van Nuys, there service was top notch back in 03-07 after that managers changed and everything went downhill. Dont go to glendale infiniti either

I planned on buying them brand new. Sean at Precision Z was swaying me against coil-overs saying I would need additional stuff to prevent tire wear and I forgot the other negatives he mentioned. He told me to get the Eibach Pro Kit.

I would not use drop springs on the KYB struts/shocks. To my understanding, the KYB struts/shocks are not designed to be used on a lowered spring and will fail much sooner than the OEM struts/shocks if used with springs shorter than the OEM springs the KYB's where designed for. Now, if you do not really care about replacing them a little sooner it should not be a problem. If you can ,get quality coilovers for a better ride and longevity.

I personally had that combo and I clocked over 60K and they're still good until I change to coilovers. Maybe just in my case

Hey, the combo could work for 10K miles or 100K miles. I was told not to do it when I had a different car a while back in the late 90's. I was told that the KYB shock may not hold up long after using lowering springs. However, people was using 2-3 inch drop springs and pancaking their cars back then. Maybe a 1 inch or so drop will not affect the shocks, I do not know. Only going by what the suspension guy told me a while back about using non-drop shocks with lowering springs. Now of days, I like having the proper suspension wheel travel and ground clearance. So I would use an air bag system to lower and raise my FX when the time comes to modify it.
