Engine Oil Dipstick stuck

take a couple of picture of dip stick now. Some visual aid may help us diagnose and comes up with some crazy idea to help out. $1000 is way way crazy. Even if they drop the oil pan, they will have a hard time forcing the rest of the dip stick into and through the hole a. Well maybe they just yank it from the bottom with the pan open, but still gonna be a PIA.

Yeah I know. Well, I tried everything. Pressure pliers, needle nose, used an aluminium rod to pry it out. The aluminium rod bent :eek.:

Andy, I can not take any pics since the car is at the dealer getting the new dashboard. I will get some once its out.

Have any of you dropped the pan before? Can this be done at home with regular tools?

I have drop the oil pan on other cars, but not the FX. Since you have a FX45, there should be a tube that the dip stick goes down into. have you try to remove the tube. Most tubes are just snug and jam into engine block.

Yeah I know about the tube. But my concern is that I do not know how it is attached to the engine and it seems I will have to take a bunch of parts out in order to replace the tube from the top. Plus I am sure i would have to drain the oil to prevent a bunch of oil leaking when I get the tube out.

Very curious to see what this thing is being held in place by. Heat welded or pinched?
It is just a pressure fit . After removing the retaining bolt on the tube you should be able to twist back and forth while pulling out. I would replace the tubes o ring before re installing.

Sounded like he did drop the oil pan; otherwise he would not have know the tip was stuck at the baffle.
