I have a guy giving me a good deal on some 22" Range Rover wheels and tires. I would need to get wheel adapters to get them to fit (5x120 to 5x114.3).I know that I can fit them on my FX using wheel adapters but am concerned with any problems that might crop up or vibrations that might be caused. Has anyone used lug adapters and can vouch for their reliability through experience? Anyone have any tips for me? Or should I just forget about this idea. Suggestions are welcome.

No personal experience, but I would be leery on using adapters to change lug bolt patterns. It is one more thing against you in the equation to have a nice balanced and secure assembly. I run brand name spacers on the rear but would still have second thoughts on adapters.

I agree. I don't have any experience either but it doesn't sound like a good idea. Like he said, one more thing that could go against you. But who knows, maybe a member who had experience with them will chime in with good news for you. :) good luck!

My 24" summer setup were from an RR and I use 25 mm spacer to change the from 5x120 to 5x114.3 bolt pattern. I have been running this setup for this past summer months without any vibration or issue.

Good to know Andy, what make of adapter are you running?

Bolt on adapters are no worse than bolt on spacers. Or if the wheels allow it, you can always have them redrilled for the correct bolt pattern. I'd only do this if the wheels were really nice, or rare. It's not cheap and pointless if you could just buy the wheels in the correct bolt pattern.

Nice, they look like a very nicely machined spacer. After seeing them on Ed's thread, I would definitely not be worried about using them on my ride.

I'll just live these pictures here, in case anyone will need them for reference. OEM stud needs to be shortened by 0.21" or 5.33mm in order to install 19mm adapters/spacers.
