Depends on how bad the spots are, clay bar will work well. I prefer steel wool on the glass, makes for a faster job and will remove everything. Just DO NOT use steel wool on mirrors.

If you do use steel wool make sure it's 0000 extra fine.

+1 on the #0000 steel wool - use that myself on stubborn glass.

Meguire's Ultimate compound works really well to get water spots off paint surfaces and glass with a microfiber towel. Recommended with success many times.

I use this stuff some saleguy always brings to my door. It's some solution you dilute with water and spray it like windex. It's some type of apple green thing... Anyway, it works wonders.

Thanks for the info. I will look for some window cleaner in an apple green spray bottle. Come on man, wait until you have the complete information before posting. It is like someone asking me what type of engine oil I use and i post that I use an engine oil that comes in a black bottle that a guy in the parts store recommend. Just saying.

so.. anyone came up with a good water spot remover from sprinklers? i have big problem with one of my black trucks that parks outside. i tried 3m rubbing compound, vinegar and other waxes. no go...

Everyone stated great ways, Invisible glass is AMAZING at cleaning windows i have never used it to remove spots before though. I cant remember the name of this small 3oz bottle I use. but that is amazing. I buff it onto the window with my buffer and remove with a towel and my buffer again. Ill try and find it

Use a clay bar and quick detailer spray.

+1. Many glass cleaners will just mask the spots but it is still there not visible. Use clay bar, follow up with glass cleaner and finish with Rainmax. Tap water with high pH and "hardness of water" or dissolved alkaline will not penetrate much if you have a coat of Rainmax.

Number one culprit in my area are automatic lawn sprinklers.

Lol if you want the way the pro's do it, its with distilled water, clay bar and/or 0000 steel wool, then a good glass cleaner and sealant.
