thanks
kevin

Lol,
I though about that, but I routed it from the back of the console through the cigarette lighter.

I drilled a hole in my glovebox and I bought a flush mount female USB kit and once u drill the hole and run the wire through it just snaps in and from there I plug my iPod or USB stick in there

Sorry not glovebox but center console

Mike, got some pic on where you mount the usb port? I just tuck mine between the edge of the center console and carpet right next to the driver seat. I use a sandisk cruiser gives out an amber light when it is active :smile (2):

I removed my trip reset A/B button next to my steering wheel, and replaced it with the USB. I wanted it close to my phone mount which is on the A pillar so the cord was out of the way. (I kept the trip reset button but relocated it below the steering wheel. Very rarely need to push that thing anyways, if ever).

FYI mine is a 2009 so slightly different layout, but just to give you an idea. I'll post a pic when I upload it from my phone....

This will work. http://www.amazon.com/PAC-Cable-Mounting-Bracket-USBCBL/dp/B002MW6HRO. Wanted to see where Mike mount his. I just can't make up my mind where to mount it!

That is the same one I have and it's literally on the back wall of the center console next to the 12v outlet in there.. I'll post a pic soon

I just bought a stubby usb like the one in that kit and put in the 12v jack in the center console and run the wire through the existing hole in the console lid, why do you have to modify the FX to add a female USB ?

Here are pics as promised ata5e7ej.jpg

I see. You wanted to add a stand-alone USB port while using the 12v outlet for another device. I just use the 12v jack and a stubby USB like the one you mounted. I like your set-up, looks OEM. I see you have a can of AXE body spray ready just in case you get lucky.:good:

haha, axe-mergency.. yea its been in there for a while, use it after the gym sometimes if i gotta run errands and don't want to smell like a foot lol..
my goal was to always leave and keep the OEM look.. i bought the same USB female kit that Andy posted in this thread and ran the wire from where my DICE mediabridge is behind the OEM screen all the way down the dash into the center console.. The only logical spot that i could think of putting this thing was in the center console armrest area.. Considered the glove box but there's no room in there and didn't want to mount it where it sticks out anywhere.. plus i think it looks great and ease of installation was great
