Infiniti: Infiniti Announces New Naming Strategy

I could live with the Q connotations but prefer the FX as I think it shows sportiness. However, I don't think I like the idea of adding badging all over the place when just FX35 is enough! Makes me wish I could go out and buy a 2013 a garage it until I'm done driving my 2010! So, the 2014 will have FX70 on the right rear lid, AWD on the left lid, and 3.5 or 5.0 on the side...that's too much clutter for a luxury brand!
 
So apparently there will be a 550 hp "potent charged induction" flagship, which will use a 3.0 liter engine. Therefore it would have been called an M30 in the current naming scheme. Thus confirming the turbos are bringing the end to the displacement numbering.

And they're bringing out more cars that they don't have good letter combinations for that aren't already taken. though the Q was already taken, I guess since they had it before, they can use it again.

Also apparently people in new markets that they're looking to go to are very concerned with knowing their place in the "hierarchy" so knowing if a JX is better than FX is important... meh...
