Speakers and amp upgrade

Has anyone upgraded the speakers and amp in their FX?

I was studying the stock wiring diagram from the manual to understand what I need exactly, it seems that the stock audio unit sends 4 channels to the main amp, and then the amp sends out 6 channels as follows:

1) Dash middle speaker
2) Left front speaker and instrument speaker together
3) Right front speaker and instrument speaker together
4) Left rear speaker and tweeter together
5) Right rear speaker and speaker together
6) One last channel to the subwoofers amp (along with signal, battery + and ground)

The last channel goes to the subwoofers 100 watt amp, and again, it gives two channels (as it looks) to the two subwoofers.

Is the above analysis correct? is there amps out there that has more channels out than in?

I would appreciate if someone shares with me what they bought and how they hooked everything together.

Sounds about right. I followed the bose wiring diagram sticky in the forum and it was exact for my 2003 FX45.

My system is pretty extensive. Heres what I have:

3 amps: 2 Sundown Audio 4 channels, and 1 Sundown Audio 2500 watt one channel for my sub.
My sub is a 12" Digital Designs in a 6th order bandpass box.
All my interior speakers are Hybrid Audio Technologies.
My front stage is a 3-way. 3.7" in the dash, 4" for the center channel, 1" tweeters in the sail panels, and 7" midbass in the doors. The rear doors have 6.5" coaxials.
I am using a JBL MS-8 processor to tune all of this.

And yea most amps have more channels out than in. Pretty much all 4 channel amps have 2 channels in, and 4 channels out. But keep in mind that the bose signal is a ballanced differential signal. So you should pick up an amp, or processor that can accept that type of input.
