How do you remove Infiniti Wheel center Cap Emblem

I'm getting ready to paint my winter OE rims Black and was wondering whats the best way to remove the wheel center cap Infiniti embem.
It looks like I will need to grind the plastic spot welds on the two stubs on the back side. Then just glue them back on after painting is done.
I know some of you have done this and wondered if you had any tips.

I wanted to do that, I believe someone on here told me to heat up the emblem so the adhesive becomes weak, then push in the small rod.

I didn't take that route lol... I just taped emblem, sprayed the cap, removed the tape and wala.

Yea I was going to heat them to loosen the glue but after looking at then they appear to be spot plastic welded at the two spots on pic

i used my pencil soldering iron and poked it when its hot. came off easy!

I wound up using a dremmel with a small grinding wheel...worked great got all of them off with no issues in just a couple of minutes.

I just pried mine up with a thin flat screwdriver. No heat. No problems.
