so my wife finally let me drive the fx today. as i was walking away from the car i just noticed this silver attachment in the front lower air dam below the bumper. so i searched the threads to find out what this was and i just found it its a tow attatchment. i also found in the threads that that most or some have the oem cover for it. i unfortunately dont have one. so it sticks out like silver tooth out of the grill thats a bit to the right. i have read some people put the stillen license plate bracket on theirs. i was hoping to maybe ask you all for a solution on trying to cover it up or will i have to go end up buying that bracket. i dont have any holes in the bumper and i dont plan to drill any holes at all in the bumper. im kinda leaning torward the bracket cause of the ca law for front license plates.

so to get to the point. what did you do to cover the attachment up? or what stillen bracket did you use (dimensions)? what would you do? bracket or no bracket?

Paint it black?

For the Stillen bracket they don't have an FX specific one, but they are separated by lengths of the piece you thread in. So I would measure the amount of distance you need to clear the bumper and then call Stillen to confirm which size you need.

i thought of plastidippin' it or painting it too. i will go and measure the distance it need to clear and call stillen. for those that have the bracket. i did notice that it sits a bit to the right so with the plate on, does the sit to the right and not flush in the middle. does it look wierd? thanks again

I believe this is the tooth you speak of, and I will be painting mine this weekend (hopefully).

Mine came without the bracket when i bought the car new so i just wrapped some black electrical tape around it. Quick and easy fix without the hassle of spraying it. Dealer was nice enough to replace the cap though in the first service appt

yup thats the tooth, mine is more conspicuous cause of the black dam. btw im putting on tint. well its factory tinted with id guess 35% fronts. im going darker in the back , which i think are 35. i was thinking of tinting the headlights aswell, what do you have on yours? it looks clean.

and what else does everyone have? % wise.

I have look at the Stillen plate bracket, but what holds me back was they are not centered

Pretty sure Gordon is using a Stillen bracket.

that's exactly whats holding me back too.

Thanks, my headlights and taillights are sprayed with a mix of clear coat and black paint.
