GEE35FX's Route 66 Road Trip

Nice mini meet guys! I was wondering why I didn't see Andrews fx in the city that day. You had me worried you got towed again due to the Chicago Fire filming.

Happy trails Wayne, Karen and Fuji :-)

Well, Karen, Mr. Fuji and I are Home now from our Route 66 Trip.

What a fantastic experience we had, We traveled 11,765 km or 7,228 miles through 13 States in 33 days. We met a lot of great people and saw some awesome sights. We have hundreds of pictures, actually 1,650 pictures were taken on this trip.

Thanks to everyone who contacted us through our trip, sorry we couldn't meet more people, but we only had so much time. It was great meeting PorkandBeans and Blueduck1105 on our trip, thanks guys, for everything :good:.

A few people asked what the expenses would be, so for your interest:
Gas expense was $1447.60 for Premium gas on our trip.
Hotels was $2,731. We stayed 3 nights at friend's homes.
Meals were $1,547 ( Breakfast was included in most Hotels)
I did not include our miscellaneous expenses (Park fees, Tour fees, drinks etc)

The FX ran like a champ, no problems at all except a cracked windshield which happened the 2nd day of our trip. I am waiting for the shop to get a new one for me right now.
We got one oil change at Metro Infiniti of Monrovia, California. We met metrocheryl at the Dealership who is a site member here.

Amazing trip! And yes...thanks for taking us all along for the ride. Can't wait to hear about the next adventure!

Broken windshield.
Well, concerning my cracked windshield. It happened the 2nd day of our trip. A truck threw up a stone and chipped it. By the end of the trip it grew into a crack about 12-14" long. A friend in Colarado offered to get it replaced free of charge by one of his customers (that owed him), but we didn't want to wait a few days to get one. So since I returned home I went to my friends place in town that has glass repair and a Speed Shop, I told him I wanted exactly like OEM so an OEM replacement is now ordered from Infiniti and we should get it in a few days.
I'm glad it lasted until I returned home.

So what is your next trip that you have lined up in either 2012 or 2013? We live our excitement of travel through you two! :)

Thanks Jonas, I am so glad that I was able to retire at a younger age and enjoy all these things with a partner that enjoys all the things that I do.

We already have a month booked and paid for at an All Inclusive in the Mayan Riviera for February.

Other trips we are considering next year are: a trip to England in the Spring, and then we want to go on an Alaskan Cruise possibly later next year.
Of course we will be making a few road trips to Michigan, we want to go to the Woodward Dream Cruise.
