Here are a few pics from the past few days.
We had to do the tourist things like do the Walk of Stars on Hollywood Blvd
The last leg of the Route 66 ends on Santa Monica Pier

Some days on our trip, we just stop somewhere and have a picnic, like here at Ventura Marina.
Saw this nice old Chevy bootin it down the Interstate
We stopped at the Madonna Inn that is located in San Luis Obispo. This place was absolutely stunning. I was amazed at the Men's urinal, when you stepped into position, water would start cascading down the stone wall in a waterfall to flush all away.
The rugged coastline is beautiful
Bear enjoyed the scenery also.

Yes Route 66 is done but I am continuing on for another 2-3 weeks.
We are driving up the Pacific Coast Highway, presently we are in a Hotel in Monterey, Ca. Tomorrow we drive through San Francisco then work our way east through the mid States.

I know Tim, I wanted to keep going north from SF but my wife had other ideas.
As to the waterfall, you definitely had to stand back a bit.

Tim, I just showed Karen your pic and she loved it. Then she said that we could go to the Seattle area if we flew there, spend a few days then do the Alaskan Cruise from Seatle instead of Vancouver. This is one vacation that we want to do in the next couple of years.

That was the Halloween costume test fitting a few days ago. Needless to say it was a success.We have some friends who have done that cruise from Seattle. Their pics and stories are amazing.

You would never know it from a distance, that these are 100's of elephant seals basking on shore.
It was foggy off and on throughout this day trip, but still beautiful.

Drove from Monterey, through Santa Cruz, to San Francisco, lucked out for a sunny day on the Golden Gate Bridge, then we drove on through Sonoma to Napa in the Napa Valley. Traffic was very heavy in some sections, I was glad to get a nice hotel in Napa. Had a nice dinner and wine here in Napa last night.
Today we are heading to Lake Tahoe for the night.

We drove from Napa Valley to Lake Tahoe. The Lake Tahoe area is fantastic. We stayed in a Best Western there which was right near Lake Tahoe, we enjoyed us swim in her cool waters..
The next morning we took the slower long drive along the west side of Lake Tahoe, it's a beautiful twisty mountain drive with lots of nice scenery. We then went into Reno, Nevada and had a look around, we are not gamblers so we didn't hang arou d to long. We the drove the long drive across Nevada from Reno towards Salt Lake City, Utah. We stopped part way through the trip at Winnemucca, Nevada, not my kind of town, all there are is 5 Casinos and a few Hotels, but the drive is too long to Salt Lake City so we got a Hotel.
That last leg of our drive was a long few hours, there is nothing to see except the parched countryside. It was really hard to keep the car under three digits.
Fx is running strong. We have driven over 4,200 miles so far.
