Why 1st Gen FX35 is so much slower than 2nd Gen FX35?

You're the only one who seems to consistently post about it, and I've noticed it multiple times already, so yes I did read it. I've been wanting to say this for a few posts already. I'm not sure why you care so much about it.

BTW, Motor Trend calculated the 2009 FX35 at a 6.1 0-60, versus 6.3 for the 2004 FX45.

I care so much about it because of what you just posted. I believe what I believe. I see you have no comments against to the other FX35 owner who argues about his FX35 being faster. For someone who thinks it is a waste of time, why did you just post numbers from Motortrend to prove your point and his. I sense a little "piston envy" from the F35 crowd. Look to lay this issue to rest. I believe that FX45 is faster than a FX35, until proven wrong. As long as other posters say different, I will comment on it as I see fit. Now, lets all get along:smile (2):

So your whole argument is based on what you think, you have no proof? You've been proven wrong, times were posted from the same source, and yet you still defend it.

BTW, lol at piston envy.

There were dozens who argued the world was flat till their deathbed. The only difference is, Al Gore hadn't yet invented the Internet to preserve their stubborn ignorance for all eternity. Imagine their faces when the frst sattelite images showed up :p

If you really wanna prove your point that all auto magazines and drag racers are dyslexic (?) head to your local track and post a pic of your time slip. Prove us all wrong....but it sounds like you've been arguing this for a long time so I bet you won't go do that. Piston envy? More like sports car envy (we drive suvs FYI ;))

I <3 this thread so much.... :rotfl:

Oh and I checked out the chugga chugga edit Justins311.... NICE... although there was another related video with a silver MR2 that was very "uplifting"! Thanks for sharing...

I wished I lived in your state, where we could settle this debate at the drag strip. Maybe one day. Until then, I would leave you with this. You can not believe everything you read in magazines. Different automobile magazines can print different times for the same year cars tested. Also the automagazines may test a car in the winter or summer, which could affect times given. Too many factors come into play. The engine oil's age at the time of the test. The driver. ETC. But, if you believe everything you read in a automagazine is hard facts, I will sell you some swamp land in Florida. P.S. a popular automagazine once declared the Honda Ridgeline as truck of the year. Nuff said.:rotfl:

From the picture, it looks like the FX45 on the left is winning. You are right, you can not argue the facts:smile (2): Look at the roof rails. Silver is FX45, Black is FX35.

Nope, I backed up my beliefs with tests, whereas you just simply believe something.

35 is in the left lane, 45 in the right. This is a fact you can't argue.

That drag race picture is of two members of this forum. The silver railed FX35 is beating the black railed FX45.

Well as luck would have it, I have an office in Suwanee and one in Alpharetta. I'm down there several times per year. How bout I PM you when I'm coming down next and I'll bring my FX.

But then again if you were really serious you would have gone there by yourself by now and posted your time slip. I have 100 time slips I could post, just never taken the FX (only owned it for 2 mos).

FWIW that is the absolute worst argument I've ever heard - engine oil age? Truck of the year? Seriously? How bout we each go to the drag strip on the same day with similar conditions (VA and Atlanta have similar ASHRAE Bin data, look it up) and both video tape the runs and post the time slips.

But alas, I dont think you will. It'll probably work out that when the day arrives, you haven't changed your oil and its 'too old' to go drag racing :eek.:

BTW, is it a coincidence that the FX45 in your avatar looks like a short bus?!?

This thread has become ridiculous with the arguing.
At first, we're talking about how quick the Tundra was that I was pretty much neck-to-neck with after a red light.
I was only surprised because it was a slightly lifted Toyota truck, but after the facts you've guys told me I now I understand why it's quick.

Then I'm assuming carguy was defending the whole FX35/45 name by saying that it would beat the Tundra in curves.
We know that.. I don't expect a huge truck to even make it only a track/circuit.

Then props to Justin for not replying to/ignoring carguy and replying to another interesting question by TurTLeG.
Justin answered with facts, then carguy defends the FX45 name with a lie. Why? I have no clue.
Justin and Stuart posts the facts. Everything is dropped.

2 pages later with jokes... carguy comes back with opinions. Then assumes we're jealous....because the 45 has a V8.
Not only is the FX35 more popular than the 45, but it has way more support.
We have a drag times thread; therefore, you can go to the drag strip and post your numbers/scan your slip sheet to the thread.
The arguing is pointless, honestly. It just makes some people look ignorant.

Just reread this whole thread.. and I'm not picking sides because I drive a 35.
