Navigation CD not being able to change "State"

I just upgraded my navigation dvd to the latest version 6.10 or something like that.
I live in Canada and everything is fine up here but when I tried to change the "State" to e.g. Washington it won't let me saying there is no data available for different States other than Cali. It's fixed to California and I can only search/type in for addresses within California.
What could be the problem here?

I know the 2006-2008 version you have to choose a region as well. Make sure you have the proper one selected for your search area.
 
Mine is 2004 though... is there a way to select different region in 2004 navigation menu cuz I don't remember seeing anything like that on the screen
All I could do was to change the Country to USA and that's about it. and when I tried to change the State afterwards this error occured.

I don't know for sure...for me it is selectable on the same screen as the when entering an address manually. If you have your nav manual, it should shed some light on it as well. Good luck! :good:
 
Thanks Aiya. I actually think i know what went wrong. I never installed that program dvd that came with the map DVD as everything seemed to be working at the time when I first tried the map DVD first so didn't bother installing the program CD. I'm gonna go install it and try this again.

happened to me, had to reinstall everyhting in order to get it working right
