Hey guys,

I've got a broken lower front bumper here:bomb:. See Pic.

It doesn't worth to replace the whole front bumper cover. It looks like it's separable from the painted area but I can't seem to find the part.

I see some of you have a stainless bar there. Where do I get that?

Thanks for any input,
Nicky

The 2006-2008 FXs came with a chrome trim piece on that section. I believe it is available as a part by itself. Don't know the part number though.

Chrome piece is 62072-CL70B

looks like the bumper it self is cracked

Yea, you are right. It looks like it's one piece. I thought the black part is separable from the painted area.

Is it this one? It doesn't say chrome though. http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/Item-20-2006-FX35-Base-Molding-strip-p/62072cl70b-1433284-134677.htm

Wrap it with chrome vinyl wrap!

:smile (2): I may end up doing that.

Good idea. However, my lower bumper is cracked so it's kinda detached. I'm not sure if it can hold that extra weight...

Updated my pic for a better illustration.

Here is my suggestion.

To fix the separated lower half of your bumper, you can either get some proxy adhesive like this one from Grainger, http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/HERCULES-Hercules-Pro-Poxy-20-5KAV9 or get a inexpensive plastic welding iron like this one, http://www.harborfreight.com/welding/plastic-welders/plastic-welding-kit-80-watt-iron-67102.html to weld the three broken pieces. Once that done, some matte black spray paint like Krylon Fusion, http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/.

Depending on how the fix look from here, you can simply replace the stock chrome piece that you found (item #20) or do the skid plate mod will hide some of the imperfection for sure :smile (2):
