Replacing Fog Lights

Actually, on my 2008 I was able to replace the fog lights without removing anything. If you stick your hand in the lower air intake in the bumper, the side protecting the fog lights from the elements is rubber. You can wedge a few fingers in there and pry back the cover to gain access to your fog lights. Took me about 15 minutes to figure out the first one and the second one only took 5.

Is there a way to get to the fog light for replacement without taking the cover off below like I do when I change my oil?

Then again you didnt state if its just the fog lights or the entire housing that you want to change, if its just the fog lights the bumper does not need to come off.

I have used the rubber flap method on my 2008 to remove the fog light bulbs. The flaps are located above the bottom chrome/plastic trim inside the bumper. They are labeled with an L and R depending on the side of the car (clearly visible). It's a little cramped and done by feel, but less risky for newbies like myself then removing the bottom bumper cover or wheel well. I bent the flaps in towards the fog light from the end facing myself. I came across this method when I was looking for an easier way to upgrade to HID fogs. Now that I know this method works I feel a lot better about tackling the HID fog light upgrade. I am not aware if these rubber flaps are on the 03-05 or the 09+. This may be the reason some members dont know of this method since it doesn't exist on their model year.

You can also change the fog light housing without removing the bumper lol.. I've done it three times so far

Ok fellow FX owners. I just installed my fog LED's in about an hour on my 13 FX37. Really not hard. However, you do have to get on the ground.

Remove all the 10mm bolts and the plastic pop-up tabs from the bottom of the bumper. You DO NOT have to remove the fender wells or the screws holding the bumper in at that location. Then, just basically pull/bend out the plastic bumper from the bottom. Look UP...you'll see the fog light assembly. Reach in, turn the connector counterclockwise, it comes right out. There's a little tab on the top..push DOWN (i.e. squeeze it), and the OEM bulb pops right out. Replace with your LED of choice. (my choice was from VLED's 5K WHITE 10 LED DRL/FOG LIGHT BULBS H8.). Reverse the bumper removal...done.

It was really not hard to do at all. The results are stunning. I hated the bland appearance in the OEM fogs compared to our brilliant HID mains. Now they match.

It should be mentioned to newbies that I am not telling you to remove the bumper in its entirety; just the bottom row of bolts and tabs, and it makes for an easy-access job.

Referring to the user manual, it say, "Install at Infinti dealer".

LMAO
