Hello,

This will be my first time installing rear brakes and rotors. I have changed the fronts on my FX. Is there much of a difference replacing the rears? Also, could I go wrong going to Auto Zone or Advance Auto to buy the brakes and rotors?

Thanks Yall

Buy the parts at Rockauto.com it should be cheaper. Centric rotors and Akebono pads are pretty good parts and popular choice.

Its very east, just dont mess with the ebrake/drum setup when you take the rotors off! Also u will need a 14mm wrench to take one of the caliper bolts off per side. Breaker bar will come in handy. Goodluck!

+1. Just got centric premium rear brakes for $20 shipped on rockauto. I live in NY and it arrived the next day. Great service!

^ for rear pads.

I also ordered another set of 4 centric premium pads & rotors for another vehicle, total was $230 shipped. You also get a free fridge magnet :-D

Well thats interesting. their are members here who used Akebono ceramic pads and love them, i personally use hawk hps and i like em. I personally dont like ceramic, but ceramic pads should not heat up quickly, semi metallic pads will.

Are these pads ok for the front and back? My brother told me to stay away from the ceramic for whatever reason....something about them heating up. He drives a G35.

The "problem" with ceramic pads is that they need to heat up to work properly. For that reason they are better for track use than street. The benefit is that they last longer, work better (once warm), and don't fade in extreme situations.

I took the back tires and brake pads off...I then went to take the rotor off, but couldnt because I did not have the correct sized socket for the caliper bracket(I think thats what it is). Do you know what size socket that is? I have to go to harbor freight and get a larger socket set.

thanks
