Re: Idle stalling

I just thought I'd put out a pm from another member who sent me this after he read about idle stall issues here. What do you guys think? This is what he wrote me...

idle stall,
the idle stall on mine and one other person i read online was an a/c compressor locking up inmeittenly which is super wierd but i just replaced mine(well my wifes) and it seems good now

Hmm, if the AC compressor lock up, the AC belt be slip off, only if the 2nd gen runs a separate belt for the AC compressor. Was the AC running went his car dies on idle? Sound a bit fishy to me! I think its more on air & fuel ratio issue more then anything.

I doubt it completely locks up. It probably just gets really hard to turn for a split second causing the idle stall for a quick moment, if this is really the cause.

I doubt it has anything to do with the AC.

I had the same problem and it was my throttle bodies that were very dirty. It was causing the engine to sometimes stall on me.

Yeah my wifes car had the same problem and I took off the throttle body cleaned it and hasn't stalled since.
