Yokohama Parada-X or bf Goodrich TA KDW 2 ?

Hello,

In prevision for my new FX50s, I am looking at wheels and tires. Wheels choice is made but the tires remain unsolved. My choices are narrowed down to:

265/40R22 Yokohama Parada-Spec-X OR 285/35R22
285/35R22 bf Goodrich TA KDW 2

I want summer grip level since I had a moddified G37xS coupe with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and before an Acura TL SH-AWD with Hankook Ventus V12, you get the picture. Since I am new to crossovers and suv, I am looking for a solid/firm tire to protect the wheel and a summer tire behavior. I love the Yokos since they have so many choices and high reviews.

The Goodrich seems like a firm and solid tires that would go well with the FX50s personality. I would go with a narrower profile and a wider tire for better cornering.

So I am looking for knowledgeable advice. I know I will drive a 4600 lbs Crossoever and not a 3800 sport coupe but I want the best tire that would fit that beast personality.

Yoko's.
The fat 285 sounds tempting and the low pro makes sense, but I don't think those dimensions will overcome the higher performance of the Yoko's. Stick with tried and true happiness by many performance driven FX owners.

I can't comment at all on your needs for winter rubber though.
 
There's only two tried and true tires that bubble up to the surface with regards to performance and ride quality for the FX. One is the Spec X (on your list) the other is the Hankook Ventus RH06. I've owned two sets of the Hankooks and they have been amazing. In iS polls the Paradas have edged out the Hankooks by a slight margin. I would go with one of those two models. I'll give the BF's points for their aggressive tread pattern though :)
 
I hear mixed reviews about the KDW2's. Some love them for the FX and others feel they are too noisy and wear out too fast without the benefit of jaw dropping performance. The lack of options for the FX is another limiting factor. That said, I was thisclose to getting a set of the BF's before I move up in size.
 
I actaully have a full set of the paradas spec x with 500 miles on them mounted on a set of 22s. Everything is for sale. $1000 for tires and wheels. Or $450 for tires I liked them but I didnt like the wheels all was on carwhen I purchased it last month. Let me know since these are in your catagory and you shouldnt pass it up.
