Don't shoot, but... New FX owner with a wheel/tire question

So I just picked up my new-to-me '08 FX35 and now it's time for some new 22" wheels. I'm pretty knowledgeable with wheel sizes/offsets and tire sizes, but I can't find a straight answer on the forum as to which offset will give me a flush look on the FX. I went on CarID.com and found some 22x10.5's that I like, but the offset was +38 and they recommended a 305/40 tire. That seems kind of big for a 10.5 wheel and I don't want any rubbing, but I don't want a stretched tire either. I'm not opposed to running spacers, but I'd like to find some wheels that didn't need them. What offset should I be looking for and what's the widest tire I can squeeze in these fenders? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Are you planning on lowering your FX also? That may also make a difference in your decision making.

I'm honestly not sure yet. Depends on what profile tire I end up with and how the fender/wheel gap is looking.

I have 21x10.5 with a + 30 and that sits pretty flush (on coilovers)
I also have 295 wide tires i think 285 would look better the 295 have a slight buldge

I can't comment on the offset for 1st gens, but I'm running 285/40/22 on 10.5 wheels in the rear and they fit just fine. I didn't want to lower my FX so I went with the thicker tire profile to fill in some of the wheel well gap. You'll probably want to go with a lower profile tire if you want to lower your FX.

I went through your pics and the +30 looks pretty good! Also, did you take your tail lights apart to paint the bezels? Looks awesome! I'm guessing to take them apart is about the same as the headlights?

Yea I wouldn't mind a little higher profile tire. I've got 30 series on my Genesis and it's a pretty rough ride out here an these craptastic Tucson roads.

Just realized you've got the wheels I want! Love your FX btw

Thanks Bro!...I took apart a set of the red lamps and painted the guts. The tails have to be cut apart but its not too difficult. I have yet to install them, the ones on my car are just smoked and painted by a bodyshop.

Well I decided on the 22x9.5 +18.... just gotta keep my fingers crossed that they're in stock! I'm an inpatient person lol Thanks for your help Jefferson

I hope you don't mean this type of "inpatient" lol.

I'm running 22x9.5" in front +25 w/ 265/40/22 tires. I'm at maybe 1.5 fingers of gap on the coilovers and no rubbing (except for really big dips). On the back, it's 22x10.5 +25 on 285/35 tires and 1.5 fingers of gap. Mild rubbing, and my fenders have been slightly rolled. I'm going to roll them flat and that should allow me to go lower. There's probably room for another 10mm spacer in back if I roll the fenders flat.

^ got any pics of your fronts? I'm debating on a 285/40 or 275/40. I don't want a huge bulge, but I don't want a stretch either...

They're on order! 22x9.5 +18 Verde Allusion with 275/40/22 Nitto NT420S. Wanted to go with a wheel that not many people have... and I haven't seen anyone with these yet. Will post more pics once they are installed. Thanks for the help guys!
