Hello everybody,

My modded G37xS coupe got totalled last week after a young blonde female driver decided to cross the median while speeding and flew in my front end. :( The car was 13 months old and got racing wheels/ Michelin PSSports/ Sways bars/ and brakes improvements (Racing brake rotors and EB500 pads, Forged Performance SS lines). We were unscathed so I'm good now.

So I am in the market for a new car and I have 3 options:
1) Return to a same car and rebuild it;
2) Get a 2013 M56xS
3) Get a 2012 FX50s.

I loved the G37xS with all my heart but so far I have a great offer by my dealership for a 2012 FX50s which I should test drive Monday 23 2012. I love the added comforts (cooled seats and interior quality, bigger nav, camera, etc.), the added space and the V8. The dealership will order a Borla Exhaust to go with the car and they pointed me to TSW Nurburgring 20-22 inches light wheels. Black/ Black would be my choice with all the bells & whistles including illuminated kick plates (that I had on the G37xS)

My plan is to rebuild a new monster and the FX50S has the odd mix I need/want: luxury, V8 sound and torque, exclusivity, BBK, cooled seats, more cargo space than the coupe. With the Borla exhaust, the sounds should be awesome from what I heard. Now to my question:

1) What would you choose as an option between my 3 choices, money being not a real problem...
2) Do you know any company that make reliable brake lines? I plan to ask my parts manager is there is a difference in length between the G37xS coupe brake lines and the FX50s ones but I wanted to know your opinion.

So expect to see some pictures if I choose the FX50s. I plan to redo the brakes then use TSW Nurbugring 22 inches wheels with Nitto-555 tires (I love Ultra high performance summer tires and up). I will keep you informed of the progress.

Thank you for the info and best regards,

They both are nice vehicles, but I would get the Fx50, especially since your getting a good deal on it :)

We will push for the FX, but there are very few substantial mods available for it. It may not satisfy your itch if you need to tinker.

It all depends on how you intend to use it. I was in almost the same position a few months ago trying to decide between the FX35 and M37. I ended up with another FX because it was almost as much fun to drive and was a little better at handling my camping/mountain biking gear. It also floods a lot where I live so the extra ground clearance is nice. That being said, I'm not sure you could go wrong with either one.

Being on an FX site, most will probably say FX. I think the FX50S or the M56XS are both great choices. I would test drive both and go from there.

Thank to all of you. A new FX50s will be mine Tuesday or Wednesday complete with tint, illuminated kick plates and Borla Exhaust. I saw it arrived at the dealership as the delivery truck arrived at the same moment I was there to pick up an in-between car. :)

Can't wait to hear the V8 with the exhaust!

Well, I got the car, SUV, uhmmmm Beast. I love it! The Borla Exhaust is totally worth the price just for the exhaust music. I am shoipping new tires (Yoko Parada Spec-X) and rims (TSW Nurburgring). Me and my lady and enjoying the space and luxury. I will post pics as soon as I can. Today it will be Aquapel Treatment for the windshield.

It is quite different from the G37xS coupe but so far so great! I got many compliments from everybody.

Can't wait until I have lightweight rims and real tires...

I love Borla (I had it on my previous car). The only issue I have is the double pipe look from the back that is keeping me from even considering it. It makes it looks fake or like other factoy exhausts that just wrap a chrome exhaust pipe around a cheaper pipe. :(

I know what you mean Jonas with regards to the look. However, the double piping keeps the heat off the outer pipe and prevents discoloration. It's the give and take or the rub.

So far so good, just reordered Zaino and the wheels and tires are ordered. 20x8.5 TSW Nurburgring (23 lbs per wheel) wrapped in 265/50R20 Toyo Proxes STII. Illuminated kick plates are being installed as well.

For the spring, I'll replace the rotors and pads by Racing Brake 2 pieces rotors and EB500 pads. I had that on the G37xS and it was awesome, so much better than factory. So weight savings of 8lbs per corner for the front and 4lbs per corner for the rear. COmbine with the lightweight wheels and the higher profile rubber, it should smoothens the ride very well while improving every aspect of driving (acceleration, braking and handling).

A GTSPEC brace might be next and last.

Thank you for your help and insight!
