in less than one year, wood door trim peel again in my 2009 FX
dealer said the new trim will never peel, and it did.
i'm wondering, they never test cars in our hot weather in Saudi Arabia? it was 120F this afternoon.
that make me think again about the quality used in this car.

Just take it back to the dealer. I have the original wood trim and it's never peeled once. There's a reason why you have a warranty....use it :smile (2):

By the way make sure the dealer uses the updated part number for the wood trim to make sure you don't get the same wood again.

Wow.

Entertaining read this fine 4th of July morning. Y'all made me lol. Reminded me of a Seinfeld episode or something.

There's a difference between the OEM factory trim and the dash kits some dealers put on aftermarket. I'm guessing this was a dash kit that is peeling off the interior because the adhesive softens up in the Saudi 120F desert.

My FX came with an aftermarket "brushed aluminum" trim kit, which wasn't really aluminum but a silver vinyl kit. I does match the real brushed aluminum center console very well. This was brand new off the showroom floor at the dealer in 2004. I've seen several trim kits for the second generation, but not too many owners have posted up here on IS.

It's possible the PO has a kit rather than factory trim. Not sure if there even is a dealer in Saudi or if people just import what they want?
