Wetsanding Pitted Foglights

Just wondering if anyone's else's foglights have some slight pitting on them? I know this is from highway driving from sand, rocks, rtc etc. mine look like this:

Im going to wetsand and polish mine and make a DIY guide on it. Then apply a clear lens protector film on it. Just wondering if the fogs are real glass or a really hard plastic? If its glass wet sanding won't work.

I polished mine and it worked fine. I have a 1st gen and cant speak on the 2nd., mine are stock and are plastic.

I can tell you for SURE the first generation fog lights are GLASS in 03 and 04. I've been through three sets, removing them completely after breaking a light in the third set from a rock on the highway.

Well there goes my idea of wetsanding. Mine look terrible from all the pitting almost looks frosted.

Mine are glass, for sure. They broke and I posted my first thread about it lol -_-

Did you ever find a solution for fixing pitted fogs?... Mine are the same , awe full , and diffusing my HID's.

Don't think there's a fix.. But a prevention. Which is buying lamin-x for your fogs, which also protects the fogs from cracking

That's one of the reasons I swapped my glass fog lights with plastic. Sucks when you can't wet sand the lights.

When I received my lights after 180 Customs painted the inside housing I wanted the outside lens to look like new again because they were pitted. Solution to this was sanding them down lightly with a grey scotty pad and painted them over with clearcoat (professionally).
I was so happy with the results. They look like new again and have been holding up great since.

I ended up buying new fog lights recently. $130 for each side.

Looks like they are a behind the bumper mount.

Not hard at all heres a video on replacing the bulbs but you can see how easy it is to remove the fogs also if you wanted to do HIDs or replace them all together also.
