Second Guessing Wheel Size

I ordered new wheels today and was really excited until I got a call from the distributor. He wanted to warn me that they couldn't guarantee fitment of the rear wheels and I may have to roll my fenders. I was pretty sure that I had been diligent about my research and everything I've read on this forum and elsewhere made me think they will fit. Would someone please chime in and reassure me that the distributor was just covering himself with the disclaimer? My FX is not lowered yet. The wheel and tire specs are below. Thanks!

Front: 22x9, +38mm Offset, 265/40/22 Tire
Rear: 22x10.5, +40mm Offset, 285/40/22 Tire

but if u lower i would recommend smaller sidewalls. 35 would be th best option.
 
Thanks Dracula! Yeah, I was going to see how this setup would look without lowering it. If I decide to lower it I'll bite the bullet and get new tires at the same time. Hopefully I can get away without lowering it and spend that money on exhaust.
 
Thanks PMG, good thing to remember. Unfortunately, I've been using my radar detector instead of my speedo lately. Got a ticket in my GF's mini last month because I was listening for a beep to tell me to slow down! Woops!

All depends on your definition of negligible... Ocifer I wasn't speeding, I was going 55 mph. I have you clocked at 58 mph son. :smug: But yes, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's the closest I could find to match the front size unless I've missed a better combo. A 305/35/22 for the rear would be ideal but my local shop can't seem to find one in stock. Rookie (or anyone), what tires would you run? I'm open to any suggestions. My brain is mush, been pushing 60 to 65 hours a week for what seems like eternity just to keep ahead of my deadlines.
 
Wish I could run staggered.

If offset is questionable, a smaller sidewall bulge is ideal. I don't know the second gen offsets so can't really comment. Looks like Yokohama discontinued the advan st, shame had a great 295/35-22 size. 265/35-22 and 295/30-22 match better. Pirelli Assimetrico come in this combo, I would go shorter before I went taller. Not that there's much performance involved taller is slower, more sidewall is heavier.

Why can't you run a staggered setup? Seems like if anyone could it would be you...
 
I think Pirelli has discontinued the 305/35/22 size because my tire store can't find any in stock at their suppliers. Part of the idea behind the slightly taller overall height was to see if I could fill up the wheel wells a little more without lowering. I remember seeing a second gen here that did the same thing with M37 sport wheels and thought it looked pretty good. My house is about a mile from the Gulf of Mexico so flooding is an issue here. I'd like to keep any height advantage I have. I lowered my RX8 and loved it until the rainy season hit. Sorry if I rambled on, still on my first cup of coffee.
 
Sorry, thought you were gonna lower it. Pirelli shifts sizing available all the time based on demand, my rear tires are only manufactured in the summers and they have been discontinued a few times. I see the 305/35-22s on ebay if that's an option.
