I hate the Sport Shift in my FX

Does anyone else hate the sport shift in their FX35? If I put the transmission into DS, I expect it to upshift at a higher RPM (like 4000/5000 or above) if I'm on the throttle hard or not. I find that if I put it into DS and accelerate maybe mid-throttle, it shifts pretty much like it's in D - that's stupid. I'm doing 40mph in 6th gear at 1500rpm - duh. Now I just manually shift almost all the time, which IS really fun, but there are times I still want it to shift aggressively (and don't feel like manually shifiting it) but don't want to be mashing the pedal to the floor in order to get it to do so.

Frustrating!

Anyone know of a performce tuner for these things?

Hmmm he has a 12' FX. Totally different transmission than the 1st Gen. I think the best way is to find a company that has a different software/program for the transmission with better shift points. Its one of the biggest downfalls with the latest FX. Feels like it instantly shifts to the 7th gear accelerating to 40mph then just lags at 1500 rpm and has a huge delay when you step on the throttle.
Overall: not fun unless your using the paddle shifters ..

Haha, good point. An IPL G Coupe with a 6 speed would be nice. I really just want the Sport Shift to actually work as a sport shift.

MTN FX, that's just a bit too risky for me. I'd never have the balls to tear into the tranny.

actually even the paddle shifters have a huge delay..like 1 full second....I find it pretty annoying and why I don't use it that often.

You have just basically describe how my 09 FX35 shifts and it a real pain when your trying move up in traffic under moderate throttle. It waits way too long to down shift under somewhat aggressive pedal/ mid travel pedal travel. I find that it waits so long some times, as I'm continuously pressing the accelerator, the delay is increased farther and father ,with no response from the engine or tranny, then all of a sudden it drops down to what I'm guessing is 2 or 3 gears and then it screams. This engine has no low end power and relies on working the hell out of the tranny through gearing to produce thrust. I realize that. My complaint is that it takes too long to make up its mind as to what gear to change into when down shifting.
I complained to the dealer and he suggested I use the paddel shifts all the time. I told him if I wanted a manual shift car I would have bought one. Infinitis shift stratagy is lacking IMHO.
