Whats up guys. I'm currently looking at an fx45 engine to swap out it out with my 35. Now will it be a direct bolt on or what will I need. I know headers are one but other then that what will I need. Trying to price it all out before I take this step. By the way my cars an 04 and I will be putting in an 06 45 engine. Thanks
 
Most likely you will need a whole front end clip.

To do any motor swap that isn't the same engine you will need a wiring harness, motor mounts, ecu. Plus the engine. Maybe subframe


Not worth it in the end
 
I totally agree with what Peter said. In the end is might as well buy an FX45 instead. Might be a different story is you buy a junked 45 with engine intact.
 
In the end, you're better off finding a used 06 45. Not worth the effort, costs, and even down time involved. Plus, you can get the updated interior too. Did you ever swap out your brick? Find a black on black now. :hahaha:
 
If you are willing to live through the pain of a swap I would suggest looking into the torque monster VK56.....its doable and the engine itself is relativly cheap. I started down that path myself then bailed as I didnt want to tack on more dev time on my build. Would be a fun ride :)

I bailed out on the vortec I cancelled the order cause of all the custom work that will be involved right now I'm looking for a 45 engine and supercharge that. Since going by what you guys are saying I might end up rebuilding the engine and going twin turbo. Thanks for the heads up guys

Engine swap to VK plus trying to SC it are tough paths. I'll sell you my whole drivetrain if you want. :top:
