3d scan the holes?? They're probably standard sizes for metric fasteners. Why not just measure them manually?
I don't think it's a good idea. The roof is not flat especially in the back and the holes are not a perfect rectangle shape. I think for a better fit and for better sealing i should 3d scan the holes and 3d print the plugs.

Scanning will help with some aspects but will likely also cause additional unnecessary work. I wouldn't pay for the scanning, but if it's free . . .
If I were doing it, I'd use a simple design with best guess of the roof curvature and a material that is flexible enough to make up any gap and seal tight and accurate.
Fun idea though. I'd love to see more.

Thank you for sugestions but i wil have to see first how much $ is the scanning and then i will decide. IMHO i would choose this route for an extra precaution. Remember that those holes are right above the headliner and the water would get very quick into the car. And i would pay extra just to stay relaxed and not worry.

That is my "field of expertise". I'm more than happy to help with suggestions and questions.

Ahhh, I was thinking they were round holes.

Maybe October. I'm signed up for a race by Santa Cruz the weekend of the 11th, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it for sure.
