California TICKET!!! Looks like budget needs to be filled

Car
2010 Fx50s
So my last 4 cars all had tinted windows. I have been pulled over for other reasons but no cop has said word one about it.

My FX has tint on it from the previous owner. Yes, probably a little darker than I would typically have it (usually I stick with 35%, this one is more likely 25%).

I was driving with my wife and kid, minding my own business. I saw a cop at a strop light that I was driving through. I was going the speed limit, it was a Sunday afternoon. All was fine. He turned the light and came up next to me. Hung with me for a second and then slowed to get behind me. I told my wife that we were going to get pulled over (have a sixth sense about it). Of course, LED strobes come on and there I am on the side of the road.

I asked what I did wrong, he said the tint, that was it. He checked to make sure I had a front license plate on, which I did. I didn't complain to him too much but said that I do see other cars with even darker tint without issues. I was not doing anything else wrong. Obviously it was a slow day. Received the ticket. He verbally said to remove the tint and go to court, pay the $25 and it would all be done. However, the ticket shows that it is a non-correctable violation. I think he checked the wrong box.

Before anyone says anything, YES I BROKE THE LAW by having tint. I am not complaining that a cop did his job. I totally respect it. However, it sucks that he pulled me over specifically for that on a Sunday afternoon when I was driving perfectly with my wife and kid in the car.

Tint tickets are the worst! The cost of looking good...

I got pulled over last month when my windows were only 1/3 of the way up while stopped at a red light! Turned my quick trip for a haircut into an expensive one :confused.:

Wifey just went through the same thing and my front tints are only about 25%. The cop asked if she knew how much tint is allowed in California when she said no he replied none 0%. He said he had pulled her over for the tinted tailights and tinted windows. He also said that the tinted tails and the tinted windows were considered non correctable offences which means 25.00 plus some finesthat you would have to pay for a non correcable fix it ticket. When he asked her for the registration she was getting flustered and had dropped the registration between the seat and console without realizing it. He said he would cut her a break and just issue a ticket for not having the registration in the vehicle and let her off with a warning on the tint issues. The registration ticket was a correctable ticket and even though we found it later the same day in the car it cost 25.00. Apperantly California has a new policy that requires a 25.00 min fee for each infraction. No more free just get it fixed tickets here.
Thats why I just installed some sport tails. If you see a cop make sure to have your front windows rolled down.

Exactly the reason why I never redid my front tint after I got my first ticket Not worth the trouble.

I asked someone thats in law enforcement - and the difference between correctable and non correctable is the fine.

I drove my G with dark texas tinted fronts and never got a look anywhere in Ohio, State trooper or local boys. Oh by the way, I think we have most strict state troopers in America :(

Fix-it tickets on simple things. Most of us have been down the same road. It's not fun at all, but it's the risk we take. For all the stupid little stuff, I'm glad the police are as lenient as they are.

I still don't know how I've avoided any sort of tickets in CA after being here 2 years. *crosses finger for final week*

I even had my exhaust broken for a couple months and never got pulled over for a too loud exhaust. Sometimes I think it's just luck.

I've never had any problems with these bullsit pullovers till this year. They must be pushing these types of tickets right now to generate revenue.I agree with Dave complete bullshit.
