I am looking to buy a second car. I used to take the train to work, and my wife would drive the FX to work. However, we just moved and I have to drive to work now, so we need to buy a second vehicle. She wants a sedan, and she keeps talking about a Camry, which I definitely don't want. So I was looking at a G8. I like it, but the fact that it is a Pontiac kinda got me worried. So basically I'm asking if anyone has any experience with the G8 or any recommendation for or against it. I'm not a big fan of American cars, but I like the G8....it's not as boring as the other run of the mill sedans.

My neighbor has a black G8. Beautiful. But I have no idea how it runs or how many times its been in for service. Look for a G8 forum, Im sure there are many out there considering the Hp of the G8.

I like them too. Your biggest considerations should be miles, age, and abuse. If it is clean and well taken care of, I think you'll be happy. Resale value can go pretty low on those, so as a used buyer, you'll be in a real good position.

How about a Cadillac CTSV. Is it for u or your wife?

Never really was a big fan of caddys; however, i do like the CTSV. Cannot find a good one in the price range I was considering. We don't really have specific cars, we both would be drivingeach vehicle equally (I would drive the car more in the winter though)

I have looked at G8 forums and that's one of the reasons I am considering the G8. But then i read some reviews (like over at Edmunds) and some of the complaints are a little scary.

how about the 2009+ G8 GXP?, almost a BMW M5 fighter at a value price.

GXP model sporting a 402-horsepower V-8, an optional six-speed manual transmission, slightly revised and sportier styling, and true performance marked by a 0-60 mph run in about 4.7 second. :eek.: badass!..
