What are your travel plans with your FX this summer?

I've been itching for a road trip for some time too. I was going to go on a road trip with my brother and his family to New Orleans next month, but decided not to. I'd rather drive the FX instead of an Odyssey! :hahaha::.rofl:

Wanna do this July? I'm in a Roadtrip mood.

Have fun in Door County. I've spent a lot of time up there. Have a bunch of friend on Washington Island. Such a cool place. Don't forget Swedish pancakes at Al Johnson's in Sister Bay. :)

Andy wants a picture showing that he was in Hell :wink (2):

Ian you just came from a big road trip no?

Keep the recommendations coming. Since my dobermann is going with us, I'm going to check out Gibraltar's and a few other dog friendly places. I'm staying at a beach house at the tip of that peninsula.

Yep, Hilton Head Island off SC. Leaving in 2 hrs for Door County. We like road trips. :-)

Need pics of wife, dog, and FX in DC all in one picture!

That's what I like about the family here, people are not afraid to travel on road trips and enjoy their Country and their rides. That is where the FX shines, it is a long distance cruising machine.
On many sites a road trip is to their local coffee shop parking lot, ewww, not on my menu.

The IS Family ROCKS !!

Years ago, wife and I took a day trip up to Door County. The drive back was bad. Got home around 2:00 am. Should have spent a night there. Scenery and drives is amazing.

Jonas, how's your schedule in July? Hell, you gotta lead the way out there now!

Every weekend in July there is nothing going on at this point on my schedule. July 7th @ 11:30am there is a 350/370 Z meet/BBQ at a Park. If you guys come that weekend, we could do this as well if you guys want. I've met these guys a few times and they are alright. Not like our meets, but they are good people very into modding.

I know Wayne expressed interest...maybe at the end of his trip if he comes back around going back to Canada through Michigan that weekend might just work, but not sure.

When we would do the run to Hell, MI, I can see if that group wants to join us. I had mentioned it to them a few months ago and they said just find out the day and they'll see who can make it. I have 2 queen beds / bedrooms available and plenty of additional floor space if needed if you guys desire to crash here. Ann Arbor is a cool place to visit just in general, so if you decide not to stay with us, I would suggest staying as close to Ann Arbor downtown as possible. http://www.visitannarbor.org/

Ann Arbor has something like 700+ events a year, one of the largest being the Ann Arbor Art Fair. Actually a lot of fun especially with family walking around. Art Fair is July 18-21. Traffic will be blocked and bad here, but we would quickly get out of the way and towards hell.

Lots of canoeing and other outdoor activities here....just FYI.

I live 20-25 minutes east of Ann Arbor.

Also the Cruise nights in your area are pretty awesome, I enjoyed an evening at one of them on Michigan Ave last summer.

Yes, but that will be bigger in August no?

I went to it when I was down last year at this time and there were still 100's of old cars/muscle cars cruisin the streets. My wife's cousin (has a limited production new Challenger) who lives near you told me about.

If you have some time, you can take the ferry across to Washington Island. Cool place to drive around and Washington Harbor on the north side of the island is one of the coolest places in DC.

Skyway Drive-In Theatre is between Fish Creek and Ephraim. If there's nice weather, it's a cool spot to catch a movie under the stars.

There are a bunch of wineries in Door county as well. Stone's Throw and Orchard Country are my personal favorites.

Al Johnson's is a must for breakfast and it's always entertaining to eat at place where they're are goats on the roof.

Have fun.

I'll be leaving in a week in a half for maine and then driving into canada. Been planning this for awhile now.
