IBA on or off?

Im on the fence on this one. Although I like the technology, I am not sure about the execution at this point? Any insight is appreciated.

BTW: The active cruise control ROCKS! I use cruise all the time. I always set the distance meter to low, but this is an awesome feature!

Intelligent brake assist? If that's the thing that brakes in the rear more then I like it.

Intelligent cruise is awesome! I really miss mine especially when driving between CA and TX.

I have never used cruise control in either of my cars

IBA is the thing that brakes when you get too close to something, I think it's annoying.

I just wish they would come out with something to steer the car so I could just watch movies while driving. That would be awesome!

Off. Personally I hate vehicle nannies. IMO anyone who doesn't want to pay attention and drive should do the rest of us a favor and take a cab.

:top: Or better yet, set the alarm and fall asleep with the car taking you from point A to B. :top:

Well.....If this car steers itself, I will name it K.I.T.T ;) Maybe showing my age to you young ones here.

With some of the above said, I have to say that most drivers suck! Just the reality of todays drivers. Many of the aids activated on this car are actually GOOD for many drivers so they have a reduced chance of hitting something.......most importantly.....ME!

How is it annoying you?

IBA goes on when you are going to hit someone 100% and reduces the impact so that your FX and yourself would receive less damage. How can that be annoying to you?

I was thinking the same thing lol. Baker IBA is a collision prevention system. The only time it will actually activate is when your about ready to go into a rear end collision with someone. Any other time it's not even activated so how can it be annoying? You must have it confused with something else.

Only way I could see it being annoying is if it goes off all the time incorrectly, but that means a system error.

DCA aka distance control assist is the only system that brakes and pushes up on the gas pedal when you get too close to someone in traffic. So that's what you must be talking about.

Is IBA the thing advertised in the new JX commercial where the guy is about to back over the little kid on his scooter?

No that's back up collision intervention.

IBA senses a collision in the front that's about ready to happen and applies partial brake force on all four wheels to reduce the severity of the impact. It works in conjunction with FCW forward collision warning.

Ugh too many acronyms. :tongue (2): I already have to look at another manufacturer's for work, don't need any more.

I'm an expert like Aaron now on what our car's can do :)

I was overwhelmed at first, but now it's all awesome to know :)

Placed thread in right section.

he must be referring to the lane departure warning system. But again this feature can be switched off if you don't want to hear that constant beeping.

I beg to differ. It is way more intrusive than that. I have allowed it to kick in and I am FAR from hitting anything. I can see the value in the technology; maybe I just need to be a little more patient with it?
