What went wrong with your FX today?

Have you tried cleaning your throtle bodies? If yes check for a cracked disconnected vaccuum hose at the intake manifold causing the idle to raise like that. Also check your accelerator pedal. Theres an electrical plug there. Might have corrosion on that. If those dont help. These things seem to have communication and learned parameter loss over time wich happens because the throtle plates were used to sit tight when new. So when they get dirty they start to sit at a different angle when they get dirty. So if you cleaned them and its still there you should look up an idle relearn procedure. I think it has to do with turning the key on and off several seconds or so. I did it on a couple of nissans. It worked like a charm!

Ok thanks I will give it a try in a bit. It stopped so far but if it starts back up I will look at this to do.

my radiator started leaking, actually more like pissing coolant all over my garage. It's friday night and can't get parts all weekend probably, nor do I have time to fix it. Just freaking great.

Is it your rad or your thermostat. I was driving and my car started overheating and antifreeze was pouring out. It was a stuck thermostat

Where is the thermostat located? My car didn't overheat at all, I didn't see the temp jumping up at all. And I looked under the car and it seemed like it was leaking from from the radiator.

^^^^ Sorry above comment is for you

The thermostat is in the front near the belts. My situation was overheating and coolant bubbling over leaking out the overflow bottle. If that never happened to you it might just be the rad. If it's a rad leak you can buy black pepper from the dollar store and pour it in the rad cap, that should stop the leaking till you get a new one. I drove around for 6 months with this black pepper fix in another car

No this leak was from the front, radiator area. I checked the hoses and they were dry, so it didn't leak down the hose or anything. I found a radiator already, picking it up today at lunch for 168$ and then installing it tonight. have to get the coolant too and it should be good to go.

I think my high flow cats or my Invidia exhaust messed up after trying to drive thru a flooded street (big mistake) I turned back once I heard the exhaust gargling and once I got to a gas station to take cover I noticed that my exhaust had gotten way louder! Like wow! It never sounded like that before so I believe something messed up. Still waiting for the storm to pass by. Damn Houston weather!

Good to hear that she won't be down.

almost no down time. On the weekend I was too busy with a friend's wedding that I didn't even need a car. On Monday I had food poisoning so I didn't go anywhere. Yesterday I fixed it and all is well.

engine would shut off completely while driving, code I pulled was p0340, bad camshaft position sensor on bank 1

Had a grinding/creaking noise any time I hit pavement uneven enough to compress the suspension in even the slightest way. Sooooo I just had both front struts and control arms replaced at the stealership, won't even tell ya'll how much that ran.

What in the hell did you do that you needed to replace the control arms? Maybe the bushings but I can't see how it's possible to trash your arms unless you get into a decent fender bender.

Might as well say something close to that. In the middle of winter a few months ago I hit a pot hole that bent all four of my 24's at the same time. It was one of those holes that looks like the city was probably working on a water main or sewage pipe and they had to cut a section of road out all the way across two lanes in order to access the entire section of pipe. Then here comes the snow, salt and snow plows all contributing to the crappy fill job they did being almost completely dug out. Here I come getting off work at midnight when this section of road is pitch black and BOOM at only 35-40 mph it felt like I left my chassis in the hole. I was driving just slow enough to seal the deal on my wheels getting a nice deep plant in the hole. I stopped and got out but it was too dark to see what the damage was, at that point I was just checking for flats anyway. The next day my passenger front tire wasn't holding air and the other three rims had substantial bends in them also. I'm pretty sure that's what put the finishing touch on my control arms, as hard as I hit that hole. I'm surprised I didn't have issues, other than the wheels, earlier.

Yeah but the control arms are still protected by the suspension with a small degree of dampening occurring at the tires. I've never heard of anyone damaging them from hitting anything aside from aside from a collision. Not only that, but you managed to drive home after hitting the pothole on a set of 24s.

That's amazing.

Mirror fuse for my outside mirrors has disconnected and I can no longer make the mirrors suitable for my driving, as my mother moved the mirrors when she was driving earlier today. Ughhh...
