What went wrong with your FX today?

Viperi I wouldn't blame your neighbor unless u know for sure. Anyone visiting your neighbor, anyone using your neighbors driveway to turn around fast, etc in a 3 week period is a lot of potential cars. It's a lesson learned to not leave it on the street. Next time kids could be playing and a dent could be there from a ball hitting it. I once as a kid ran my bike into a car parked on the street. You think I went and told that neighbor and my parents about it at 8 or however old I was? I had enough spanking to want more.

Just whatever you do don't assume u know who did it. It's not healthy. You learned.

so today i found out someone hit my driver door and fender. i was so mad. i haven't been out for like 3 weeks and the only time i could picture it getting it was when my sister left the fx on the road and i believe my next door neighbor backed up into it.. how would u guys try to ask without blaming them?
I wouldnt ask them if they did it. But you could always ask if they saw anything.

yesterday as i was driving my drivers side rear bumper reflector fell off. I recently put LEDs into them, and I guess I didn't glue it back together well enough and the red part just fell off as I went over a bump. Now I have to get a new piece and redo it. F*ck!!! I don't know if it's even worth it doing it again, I just don't have patience for it anymore.
Also something is making A LOT of rattling noise when I drive, sounds like a heat shield or something and it only happens when I accelerate. Went under the car and didn't see anything loose so I am not sure what it might be. Taking the car to the shop today and hopefully they can figure it out. I am slowly getting sick of this vehicle, probably gonna sell it after winter. I don't know what it is, but I like driving my parent's e39 more than I like driving my newer FX.

thanks guys. im jsut gonna suck it up. thing is. my car hasn;t moved from the driveway in 3 weeks. only time it moved was when my sister left it on the street for an hour or 2 so im pretty confident it was hit within those 2 hours. also it seems like it was hit by a vehicle thats higher up which my neighbors have a minivan and a crv. Im just gonna suck it up and get it fixed. no point in stressing it out.

That's too bad you have to drain some of your hard earned money because of someone's careless, inconsiderate driving.

So i changed my oil today and inspected my suspension. Noticed my left outter tie rod bushing torn, and grease like substance is leaking out. I never knew our tie rod end bushings were filled with grease (learned something new). Anyways, my suspension is still holding up well, cant believe my eyes, great craftsmanship/engineering from Infiniti. The part that went wrong was me installing back my fujita short ram intake 10mins before sundown. Ive never ran into problems, but today was the freakn day. For some reason it wasnt fitting right on the throttle body lip (opening). It was dark and i had no lighting except my iphone. I installed everything im pitch black thinking all things went right. I start up the car and get on th street. SES, VDC and some other light come on and i cant accelerate anymore. Its like ur speeds are gaining very slowly and there is no power.. I pull over slowly, ran and got a lantern and reinspected my installation. I redid everything step by step and taking my time under light. I start the car back up and again, its like the engine cant breathe and its choking. So i went back and took off the filter connected to the short ram. Restarted and wallah, car back to normal. So because of workig under no light and rushing, i installed the filter by pushing it way into the ram hence choked and stuffed. Moral of the story, treat this beast with proper care and dont rush things. The only thing left to fix is the check engine light. Got to reset it.

Temperatures were subzero last night while the FX sat outside. Door opened with a little stick to it, but opened without issue. Close the door and it just bounces off. Latch is not catching apparently. Played with the latch and eventually it closes.... now it doesn't want to open...

Heat on and driven for 30 min and the latch still won't let go.. sucks

Went out to a club in Newark, NJ Saturday. Car was driving fine, come back outside and the fx is dead. No dash lights, no nothing. Had to leave my car that night in Newark which isn't the best place for a car to be sitting at night. Towed the next day, car starts when it arrives at mechanic... turns out it was an incorrect battery terminal installed by previous owner, corrosion, and bad battery connection behind the battery. Pain.

I started noticing rust forming in rock ships on the roof right above the windshield. They weren't' there a month ago. Chips were, just no rust. Now they are rusted. And one drivers side pillar as well. I don't understand why there and why so fast. The chips I have on the hood don't have rust spots. I will have to sand out the rust and fill up with some paint using the match method. it's just a pain in the ass to see rust forming so early on this car. My TLs never had that issue

Sounds like what I had with my old 2003 FX35. I sprayed the latch in the door with WD-40 and put a portable heater on it in-doors for a few hours (not too close since it's flammable). Never had a problem again. Good luck. Temperatures the next few days will be worse here in Chicago.
