Eventually, yeah... This is just a "test", I mean, it allows me to try different color combinations and when I find the one I liked the most, then I'll use either paint or wrap for a permanent finish.

I have been looking around for a leather shift boot, I think this would be a great addition to my car. I might do this too.:top:
 
Update.
I wanted to like the way it came out the first time but wasnt working for me. So i decided to change the color again and i definitely love the way it turned out. I left the door handles, clock surrounding and shifter silver and repainted the console black.

Like this look too loll and quick question let's say I only wanted to take off the circle shifter plate thing would that come off with a flat screwdriver by itself or would I have to remove the sides and then get to the circle plate?

Youll have to remove everything because that circle shifter plate has 3 Philips head screws (yellow) holding the 2 pieces (red) together

it amaze me how durable plasti dip is :top:
 
pulling the steering wheel is easy in the fx, just remove the airbag from the center (2 bolts on the sides covered with tiny round plug) then loosen the center bolt of the steering wheel and just pull straight out hard, wiggle left then right as you pull but it will pop out with just pulling by hand, no steering wheel puller necissary. def put the center nut back on a little before you start pulling though because it does need a good amount of force to release... without that center nut in place loosely you might wind up knocking some teeth out when the wheel releases :)

Do i have to dissconect the battery first?.. ive been doing some research on steering wheel removal and seems like there is a risk of accidentally deploy the airbag, is it true?
 
it would be extremely hard to deploy it, but you should make sure that you do NOT turn the key on while it is unplugged or you will kick an SRS light, disconnect the battery is a good saftey measure to avoid that but if you don't turn the key on really you'd be fine. only way you'd deploy it is if you started probing wires with a powered probe, not just by removing and reinstalling.

You can make your own leather boot if you're willing to spend some time. I did that to match my brick interior
 
I know I'm wicked late on this but I did mine too and I totally dig it. If you spray it in thin coats it keeps the same texture too (I have the sport model so I think it's a little different than this). And it doesn't just magically fall off either. Well, maybe if you had the fingernails of a bag lady and thrashed about your car when Usher comes on or something.
