2005 FX35 Engine Splash Guard Replacement

Hi, how difficult is it to remove and replace the engine splash guard and replace (mine cracked)? Will I need to replace any additional parts (plastic screws..etc) and approximately how long will it take. I already have the new engine splash guard. The debate is to do it myself or just tell the dealer to. Instructions would be helpful if you recommend that I just do it. Please advise.

They are very easy, unscrew the old one (10mm)... put on the new one.

So I do need to buy replacement screws? How long would you estimate it will take to do the replacement?

Not much to it. I think there are about 10 - 12 10 mm bolts. Just undo them and swap the splash guard out and re-install the bolts. Pretty sure there are no plastic screws or put pin.

you can re-use all the bolts you take off, unless you are missing some

Depends if you have some rusted bolts and how quickly you can turn the ratchet :wink (2): I'll say 30 - 40 minutes.

where did you get your splash shield from La?

Do you guys recommend using the splash shield. I know some cars don't come with it. Is it on our cars mostly for aerodynamics
