After this past snowstorm/ice/fog event here, I realized the OE fog lights are completely useless and are basically for looks only. I'd like to improve the function of the fogs, but I don't want to do an HID conversion. So, I am asking for help on choosing the best standard-wattage H8 yellow replacement bulb (35W) as I don't want the filament to be over-driven and melt the housing (or have to replace the bulb frequently).

Hoen? Noyka? PIAA? Luminics? Any others to consider?

Thanks!

My guess is that he actually wants the lights to work in foggy conditions and typically the colors available in an HID does not lend itself to cutting through fog. I think about the lowest I've seen in a HID is 4000k and from what I've read, if you have to deal with poor weather and fog on a regular basis, you would want something around 3000k.

That is not true at all. You can get 3000k HIDs and they will out due any standard bulb out there. I can set you up with a conversion kit for the same price as the Piaa bulbs. And they will work better.

I find the 3000k are not very yellow depending on the viewing angle
I have these in my car

mine shine on the ground yellow but I find if I look at them head on they are not the intense yellow of say a Lexus fog lamp.

If yours are i think I might have to grab a pair.

Yeah, it's difficult to get any hard facts on bulb life, color, etc.

Are these on sale on your site? I'm assuming these are the HID kits that require some installation a lot of zip ties and ghetto rigging behind the front bumper ..
