JWT POP-Charger? Is it worth it?

So I've read a couple threads about people installing the POP-Charger on the FX45, but was wondering if anyone has done it with the 35 and if there were any noticeable results. Honestly I like it from the fact that the factory intake makes for a pain in the ass in filter replacements and that even though it's not a CAI, it's at least pulling air from the colder side of the engine compartment. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I ran the pop charger on my 45. From what I recall the popcharger faceplate will not mount directly up to the 35 unit.

Honestly, I don't think there are any noticeable or any real gains worth mentioning for CAIs. At least for our cars. I think the OEM airbox is tuned pretty well as it is, but a pain to work around. I had the Fujita intake on my 35 and now an Injen on my 45 and I didn't get them for real gains the manufacturers claim. I got them mainly for the look, the sound, ease of cleaning and working around the engine bay.

Thanks guys. I'm really looking at it from the same angle as Aero. I'm not necessarily looking for a huge performance boost, but it is a pain to work around the stock airbox. I have a K&N flat filter in place already and have looked into the z-tube, but I've heard that they are significantly louder. Is it really that noticeable over the stock tube?

the level of loudness all depend on how sensitive are your ears. By design, the Z tube eliminated the resonator in that section of the intakes, so it will be louder for sure.

my 2 cents: get the z-tube and K&N flat filter and call it a day.

I have this setup and haven't noticed it being too much louder. Then again, I am running an HKS exhaust so my ears naturally go to listening to the beautiful music it belts out!

How did u like the Fujita intake on the 35?

Did u have any issues with it? I.e. fitment, idling issues, heatsoak, car shutting off periodically etc.. I've been looking into Fujitas intake. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks in advance!

I would agree that intake gains are minimal with most OE set ups and its more about sound and bling factor but the more you do on the NA level the gains feed off each other. For the VQ guys add in the plenum, headers, and exhaust then a good CAI will be appreciated by your power plant. Throw in a tune and you are good to go.......

The Fujita was nice. I got it mainly for the bling and room under the hood. Fitment is perfect and I ran it all last summer/year with no issues with heatsoak, idling, etc. Installation and cleaning was a cinch. It's a dry filter like JWT, so I cleaned it often because of the ease. I think its a nice intake, but like Logan says, it wouldn't really benefit until you start piecing multiple mods together. I'm getting ready to sell it on the forum soon, but if you want to PM about purchase, feel free to.
