Warning Beep Volume for LDW and FCW

It is anoying that when you have the stereo set to a decent listening level (Not blasting) and get either one of the warning beeps (lane departure and front colision warnings) you can hardly hear them? Is there any way to increase the volume of the warning beeps?

I doubt its possible to adjust the problem, but I was wondering the same thing. Something else I am curious about is what 'state' that button has to be in for LDW and FCW to be activated. All the other buttons in that area of the car show no amber light. But the LDW/FCW button shows a yellow/amber light. Does that mean its on? ( I am pretty sure it does) Odd that it requires a light to show that its on, and the other buttons just use the dash to tell you if you have turned them off. This being a brand new car, and me having no prior experience, makes it a little unnerving knowing if I have all the safety features activated or not. I tried to read the little pamphlet that came with the technology package, but it said nothing about the 'state of the button' to know if its on or off.

Any help is appreciated.

Check out pg. 20 of the Quick guide. When you turn on these systems they now actually apply the brakes to either slow the vehicle for the FCW or pull the vehicle back into the driving lane for LDW. I leave both systems off because I dont want to wear out the brakes!

Not true. These are WARNINGS and not preventions or assists. FCW is one of the most valuable features of the car IMO.

LDP pulls vehicle back in by applying brakes and IBA will apply brakes if it suspects a collision and DCA apply brakes for controlling distance. LDW and FCW do not.

So is IBA 'enabled' by default?

FCW and LDW are just warning systems, but do nothing to help if either happens? IBA is the thing that does the actual work?

I guess I should go read page 20 of the quick guide, hopefully that explains it all.
