your child seat

Thank you. Any reason you haven't done it in the center? Supposedly (this is just what I've been told by the hospital seat trainers when I attended prior to the birth of Gabby), you always want to attempt to use the center seat as that gives the most protection for your baby from either side impact, airbags, etc. Sometimes it's difficult to use the seatbelt method in the center, so then if you can't get a really good tight fit then you use the side and can use the latch for convenience.

As far as the latch....mine is very very tight, what I do is tighten up the child latch seat to the point where just using one hand to attach to the latch wouldn't work....I have to put all my weight and both hands to push the child seat latch into the seat to catch the latch and lock on. (I tighten the seat first then use my weight to catch it versus latch it up first then pull to tighten it). I find this way is not only faster but a lot more tight.

I have not had success using the seatbelt method in the center.....I wonder if you ever tried. I would love to be able to use the center because right now with it at the passenger and it being rear facing, the passenger side front seat is moved forward a ridiculous amount when the baby seat is in.

I always used the center until my son go old enough to use a booster. Just used the straps/clips that came with the seat and used the anchors. Car prior to the FX was an IS350 and it was totalled in a side collision. My wife was driving my son home and was hit on the passenger side. The other car didn't have time to slow down and hit our car hard enough to push it 40 ft. sideways and up a stop sign. The passenger b-pillar was pushed in 18" and the passenger seat was touching the drivers seat. The rear door was a foot into the passenger rear seat so had my son been sitting there, he probably would have been injured. But being in the middle, not a scratch.

does anyone have the Ferrari child seats. not that expensive and are nice. was going to pick one up but havent heard reviews

Feeling Stupid :dont-know:
Glad I found this thread I have rebuilt engines built motorcycles from scratch and the last thing I ever thought I would need to figure out was how to install a child's car seat at my age but now have a Grandchild.
I fought with the lower latch for 20 minutes trying to put the latch strap through the upper and lower space of the seat and the padding of the seat prevented me from getting it to latch. I was thinking I needed to cut foam or get extension latch strap but no
After reading through this thread I saw that there are slots provided on the top of bottom seat cushion.
