i need an extra key

thats a good question, i havent checked i am currenly deployed in kuwait. i was just trying to get a heads up on a good deal

Yeah they have them for dirt cheap on ebay brand new. Oh and dont pay the Infiniti dealer the $130 they tried to charge me for programming the fob. I googled it and programmed the fob myself for free. Quick and easy!

I should of looked into it a little bit more because I ended up paying over $200 for a spare key (key fob & programming at a local Nissan dealer).

The "Thanks" is for the fact you are deployed in some god awful place that isn't HOME.

Safe home,, and god speed boy.

When you coming back?

This really depends. Do you have the tech package on your FX? Or do you have just the plain non-intelligent key remote, that anyone can just program? You can get any of the actual keyfobs on ebay cheap, do it. Make sure the FCC IDs match up, like Ed said. But some keys are different too. When I got my 45 with the intelligent key last week, one of the keys was missing in the fob. So I ordered a blank one cheap on eBay, but its missing that chip inside to start the car, so that's probably why it costs so much to program at the dealer. I don't know where to get that chip at the moment either.

After looking at my key, I think I can drive the car with just the fob without the key inside of it.If I ever had to use the physical key that hides in the remote without the fob, I would need a chip installed in it to start it.

Ha, Andrew, gotta ask me this stuff to save you money=)

I bought mine from here, I think you have the new style key right? If so, this one is yours:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-TRANSPONDER-CHIP-PROX-SMART-REMOTE-EMERGENCY-KEY-/120657700846?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AFX35&vxp=mtr&hash=item1c17c267ee#ht_3604wt_1185

They sell both with chip and without chip ($1 cheaper).

I confirm this is a legit seller, bought one for my square remote and programmed at the dealer no problem.

You can buy 2 or 3 and just keep it as a spare since the cost to program is $45 and unlimited number of remotes (well up to 5).

Thanks for the link, I'll check it when I get home later. I paid only $7 for the blank key but its missing the chip in it. :alien:

So I bought the key from eBay, thanks Ed. I guess the only way to program is to pay the dealer, as there no other way around that.

How much
