Osram CBI 5000K D2S HID Bulbs (The next big thing?)

I can see the price has come down a little since I bought them. It's $90 for one bulb so $180 for a pair. I think I originally paid $195-$200

By the way don't use eBay to buy these or shady looking sites. More than likely they are fake china knock offs. I saw on hid planet they said a lot of fakes have been going around. If the price seems too good to be true then more likely it is.

Thanks, I might just go for it , I wish we had Clear projector lens, I am sure that improves the output of those babies a lot. I saw some pics on the HID thread from Acura TSX lens, WOW is all I can say

These bulbs look so good. I will wait for the price to come down some more!

Don't wait too long...winter is coming and the commuting in the dark. $200 over the life of your FX isn't worth waiting on. They are that good!

Do they make bulbs that would work in the fog lights? I'm thinking of now doing something with my stock fogs.

Either change out the fog bulbs to something much stronger or maybe convert to HID and use bulbs from these guys?

Do these turn slightly blue after burn in period?

No, not at all. They have stayed pure white in the four months I've had them.

One year I've had mine and they stay pure white with no blue of yellow to it. The way the light hits the road resembles daylight outside.

when you first turn then on they will have a hint of yellow to them that's because they take 20-60 hours to fully break in. The longer they break in the brighter they get and the more the color shifts over to complete white.

To reach they're true brightness they need at least a 20-60 hour break in.

Does anybody have a video of how they look from far way? I seen Aaron's video of how they look from inside the car but I would like to see how they look from a distance particularly in the fx.

As far as I know they only make D2S bulbs for stock setups and not full H8 HID kits for something like foglights.

If you want something for foglights I would go with Morimoto 3Five kits for the fogs.

What's the difference between Morimoto 3Five kits and DDM?

The morimoto 3five kits for the foglights have the equivalent quality of OEM matsushita HID kits. They blow away the cheapo DDM kits. I noticed DDM bulbs have a washed out look to them. The color never matches good.

I had the DDM 5000K bulbs before and they looked like 6000K and didnt match my Osram CBI bulbs in the headlights. Ended up buying the 3Five kit for the foglights and they match the Osrams perfectly.

The DDM 5k matches my 6k morimotos perfectly. Can't go wrong with the ddm's for what you pay for them. My passenger side usually never turned on the first time so I had to flick my foglight switch once to get it to kick on. Tonight it finally crapped out so I'm debating on going with the 3five kit or just get ddm's again. I'm just afraid of the 3five kit not matching with my morimoto's. Also noticed the morimoto's are slowly dimming down ( not as powerful as before ). Ahhhh more money to spend. This forum isn't cheap haha
