replacing headlight assembly

No like the whole headlight. I have some condensation on my current headlight and I bought a replacement but I'm not sure how to exactly remove it

gotta remove the bumper cover, at least most of the way..., search for front bumper removal, there should be a few threads that will show what needs to be done

I removed/replaced headlights 3 times and never had to remove the bumper. Just unscrew/uncap the top portion and let the bumper kind of hang down to expose the bolt that is underneath the headlight. As a matter of fact I did not even screw that bolt in this last time because I know I'll be removing the light again soon to redo them. The assembly holds just fine on the top two bolts and the corner latch.

yeah, that's why I say most of the way... you don't need to remove the many 10mm bolts across the bottom, you can just hinge the upper part out, but at that point the bumper is really most of the way off

do any of you guys have pics or somewhere where I can get a visual. Im not trying to take of the bumper.

When I tried earlier, I removed the grill, screws attaching a metal plate on top of the headlight, but I got stuck and didnt know what else to take out

Theres screws on the bottom of the headlight in addition to the ones on the top that you removed i believe. And to get to those screws, you need to at least partially take off the bumper

the grille doesn't even have to be completely removed, it can stay attached to the cover. just remove all the clips along the top of the grille (along with the 2 on either side holding the bumper) then you need to loosen the 2 sides.

turn the wheel right to access the left side bolts & turn left for the right side bolts..

for each side, remove the few phillips screws & then the rear most lower 10mm head bolt, then pull back the liner, release & detach the wheel opening molding from the bumper. there are tabs that you just grab from behind & squeeze/twist while pulling the molding out... once you release a few you'll see how they work. once the molding is detached all the way up past the bumper fender seam & the fender liner is pulled back you have to remove 2 10mm bolts that are at the seam between the fender & the bumper. these 2 bolts are the hardest part of the whole job. they go in from the top behind the lower front edge of the fender... feel around in there & you'll see them, don't be afraid to really flex & fold over the fender liner to get access.

once these bolts are removed from both sides gently pull the corner of bumper out & slightly downward, don't pull too hard because there are 2 clips under the headlight also holding the bumper. you need to while pulling with a little force, slide a long thin screwdriver in the opening between the headlight & the bumper & pry up on the edge of this clip, it will pop & release, allowing the bumper to come out even more, but then there is one more of these clips to release & that's it, the bumper is off...

it's a good idea to have a milk crate or similar close by so when you hinge the bumper out you don't let it just hang, a milk crate or similar in the center is a good place to rest the licence plate bracket to kind of hold the bumper up a little & not hang so hard.

also when doing one side it's still best to remove both side bolts & hinge the whole top of the cover out, trying to just do one side bolts & stretching the cover takes a lot of flexing & might do damage, done right there is much less risk of damaging anything, I'd always take both sides of the bumper released even if just doing one side headlight

cool, glad my quick summary did it for you :) it's only hard the first time, and some older ones may also have issues with rusted bolts, but other than that it's not so hard when you know what to do. good luck with it :)
