Well not to long at least lol,

I just bought a 2004 fx35 for my wife and I LOVE IT!!! But.... There are some things I already had in mind for this car. First it has a tech package on it, but I'am disappointed in the screen, gps, etc. I have read that the car will not function without this, and have decided to move it to where the analog is (is there a write up on this?). Also is there another home screen I could use besides the navigation screen? If I'm running a carputer on the main section I rather have something else like engine stats w/e... Which brings me to my next point. I would like to add a touchscreen that fits in the OEM spot without having to do to much fabrication. Since it is my wife's car :anger: I want to keep as close to stock as I can. Also, if I ran a carputer would it be possible to have a Bluetooth interrupt anything that is playing over the speakers? I have some experience in electrical wiring and ROM cooking (cell phone) but this is my first time modifying a car

Just to recap since its late (been up for 18 hours) what I would like to accomplish

1) Move OEM Nav screen to analog clock area
2) Move a touchscreen that will fit OEM space to previous nav area.
3) setup carputer with full functional handsfree setup

Your help is welcome, I did my research and used google the best I could but I couldn't find any write ups for what I want to do thank for helping a noob

welcome to Infiniti Scene. To answer you questions regarding your navigation there are several threads that have DIY for the navigation.

I'm not electro-savy enough to help you much, but welcome to the Scene anyhow.
I haven't seen the navi moved down to the analog clock area, but a few have moved it up to the overhead console.

welcome to IS. what you are asking for is doable imo but already seems like a lot of work. either Jeff aka FXLR8 or John aka TURBOCAD had his main screen moved down to the analog clock area while another member I can't remember added a touchscreen in the main nav screen area. This member actually had his original nav screen turned into a touchscreen and cost him abt $1500 I think. you will definitely need some pro and a good amount of $$$ to help you here. Do a search here and see if you can find that thread. I will do the same for you.

Thanks to all who were able to decipher what I wrote! Remind to never write a post on such little sleep. I know some friends who do custom work on higher end cars, and they said they will be willing to give me a hand as long as it's not some serious work (they do it for a living not as a hobby is what they say). I really like the forums here nice and friendly and well maintained. Unlike the saab forum I used to frequent.

I write my best posts when I am sleep deprived.....ehhhh maybe not :) Welcome to iS! I'm sure you can do what you've outlined with talented help, you are halfway there.

so I had my buddy come check out the car and the first thing he asked me was what do I really want out of it. And after spending a good 30 minutes talking about it he suggest I put a
Parrot Asteroid where my tape player is, and make a custom front to house it in. I was wondering is this something that could be easily modified
??

I tried to post a link but my post count is not high enough :( time to spam the boards!!!! (I kid I know this is violation of the ToS)

No need to spam. Just wish handy Andy happy bday a few times...
Hahaha, how did I miss this one. Just a three more post to go Advantage.

Hey, I'm sure you will see it. Here is answer to your #1 https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=9042-What-did-you-do-to-your-FX-today?p=242766#post242766

++ Edit ++

Ooops, my bad.... Didn't see it was navi screen you wanted to move to the clock area. If you do, it going to be a very limited viewing area.
