The Official Unichip Q Tuning Thread

I'm eager to play with the UniChip and see if I can squeeze more HP & Torque out this puppy. To me it seems that there is more the FX can produce and we need the expert to TAP into it.

I agree. Who's the expert here?

That is the question who is the expert? Only if their were more UniChip tuners in IL. I feel we broke our necks to get these items and can't even use it to its full potential and everyday our FXs are getting older day by day and mileages are racking up lol.

Lol. Pick up some basic tuning books and see how far u can learn. Fuel maps, ignition timing. You guys have wide bands gauges in the car, use them! Its a common mod to +2 ign advance, look what it does to the car thru data log and see if you can up more timing. +2 is just a general safe number, it can go a LOT more.

Do minor adjustments and see where they get you. Nothing beats a pro tune. But u can lean to better the car compared to stock.

Don't u guys have a data base of 350z tunes. Just take apart one of those tunes and see what the upped and lowered st what rpm and range. If I can figure it out, more of u technical guys should be having a ball.

The great thing about the Unichip is that it retains all of the oem engine protection systems so you cant really screw anything up too bad. Certainly not in a way that cant be immediately fixed. You can set the timing advance to 50 and the ecu will pull it right back out as soon as it detects knock.

I have all of the Z/G files if anyone needs them...

I'm getting pro-tuned soon. I'll ask about uni-chip for you guys.

If u guys aren't willing to learn or have lack of time to. U would recommend u sell the unichip and just get a generic uprev flash. Lots of titan guys made the switch and loved it. Look at titantalk.com for info about what they disliked and liked.

Let know, I'll put my name on the waiting list if they do UniChip

We still need to get together at some point Tim so I can see the stillen s/c in action. I'm considering getting my FX sc'd but with an application other than Stillen.

Also, I would like to pick your brain about UniChip. Aaron over at Unichip set me up with the Z mappings about 6 months ago but I feel there is more that can be done.

Do you have a wideband o2 sensor and gauge?

GRD in west chicago is right down the street from my house they're pretty good, booked a month+ in advance. They tune Uni-chip and uprev. I will be going down this road come spring/summer time after I get my exhaust and transgo installed.

Time to dump Unichip and buy UpRev:smile (2):. There are at least 2 tuners in IL, AMS and GRD, both are expensive pro-shops

Our local(Madison, WI) High performance Porsche shop have the AWD Mustang Dyno, $210 an hour. I just talked to them and they are willing to give us a discount if will bring 3-4 cars, the only problem we need a guy/tuner who can tune UpRev or Unichip.

Unichip is beyond easy to tune NA. Download the manual, read through it once, and you'll be ready to start. The fuel map is the only thing you need to alter with bolt-on mods, and the 350z tuned maps are already pretty close to perfect.
