The Official Unichip Q Tuning Thread

Thanks for the info guys - what I meant was how does the "standard" improved map for the 350z compare to the "stock" all zeros map?

Thanks

Steve

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking... Read through this thread and if there is something specific that you want to see, I'll post it.

The 350Z maps when already been tweaked when it is loaded into our Unichip. Unichip doesn't have any maps specifically for the FX35. From my personal experience of running with the 350Z map, it is very effective at least from seat in the pant dyno and how quick the car responses from stop to full speed.

Sorry - when you get the 350z maps from UniChip, are they all zeros like the OEM map, or are there "tweaks" built in?

Tks!

Gotcha. See below. Note that the maps from Unichip are maps that were made by Unichip tuners and are specific to a certain set of mods (whatever the tuner was tuning at the time).

**I misspoke above in regard to the values in the timing map (they don't actually have to be whole numbers). I fixed the post...***

Here are the tunes they have created so far:

Here's an example of a single tune, #19010312 - K&N (Stillen) CAI, All Dual exhaust, headers, 91 octane -

Timing map - The values obscured are all "0.63":

Another thing that I would like to check into is whether anyone has created "high efficiency" maps to optimize fuel consumption for highway driving. It's be pretty neat to have that option that specifically tunes the system to provide better gas mileage.

Yes, a few of us have 5 maps total:
1) Immobilizer (car starts up and dies) for an extra layer of security.
2) Valet mode (rev limited and max speed limited, e.g. 25 mph)
3) Fuel economy mode (87 octane or better, lowers rev limiter, etc.)
4) Max performance (91 octane or better)
5) Max performance (93 octane or better)

Thanks - that's great. What mapping changes were used to get higher economy beyond the lower limiter? Reduced max throttle? Does UniChip allow for control of injectors and spark? THAT would be pretty cool to drop two or three cylinders at cruise....

Its possible but, due to the number of inputs & outputs on the chip, you would need six Unichips (for a 6cyl). The head of Dastek is South Africa runs multiple chips on his Lamborghini to achieve individual cylinder control over fuel and spark.

That is awesome. I'm going to ask UniChip. If I run 8 UniChip's can I deactivate 4 so my car runs like an I-4 on the highway?

$300*8= expensive though!

=)

How does this compare to Osiris from Uprev? From what I've heard Osiris gives you way more control over everything..

In an extremely vague sense, one is a reflash of the existing ecm and one is a piggyback ecm. If you narrow the scope of your question I will do my best to answer.

Just wondering are all unichips the same and just using different plugs? If yes does anyone knows how much it cost(harness)? Couldn't find the harness price online.

I think the UniChip is $300 and the harness is around $200? Tim hard wired his to save money.

For the most part most unichips are the same, just different software/maps and harnesses. So you can buy any unichip q and just send it in and reflashed it.
